Mercury Retrograde 2027
The messenger of the gods is going backwards again.
When is Mercury Retrograde in 2027? Allow +/- 24 hours for the start and end dates, to allow for world time zone differences. I am publishing this on 13th July 2026 to give you advance warning, in case you are planning travel, property sales, weddings, product launches and so on.
On the dates below expect global standstills, flux and delays as a result of these common issues – computer failure, extreme weather, strike action and planet-wide chain reactions.
Mercury Retrograde is good for rehearsals. It commonly produces the re prefix in front of words associated with Mercury. Thus, rescheduling and product recall as well as retracted statements.
Many people using astrology on the internet give you the wrong dates and in the past, Google has done this too. Mercury is retrograde, or appearing to move backwards, in a pre-stage and post-stage too. It’s called the shadows. The biggest chaos can appear at these times. Don’t be fooled.
Picturing Mercury the messenger of the gods going in the wrong direction and also standing still, is a good way to visualise what happens in your astrology chart.
Will You Be Personally Affected?
Check your natal chart, or birth chart. If Mercury goes over the same degree and zodiac sign as any factor there, you can expect people to change their mind; computers and mobile phones, as well as landlines, to delay you; transportation and travel rescheduling to have an impact. Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius
Mercury goes backwards and forwards from Aquarius 20 to 29 degrees between January 25th and February 1st, then February 19th and March 18th.
Expect reshuffles in governments worldwide and sports teams. Strike action by trade unions. Rescheduling with clubs, teams, bands and other groups. Social media will be chaotic.
If you have Aquarius factors in your birth chart from 20-29 degrees you will be personally affected so have Plan B and C with friends and groups. For example, a stag do, or a football final, or an astrology conference.
This period coincides with Pluto in Aquarius so a transformation in the balance of power within the Republicans and Democrats in America; the Conservatives, Labour, Greens and Reform in the United Kingdom; the Labour, Liberal and One Nation parties in Australia – and so on – is likely.
People at the head of political parties as well as members (those who vote leadership in and out and create spills) will change their minds. Perhaps more than once.
Reshuffles of the reshuffles from January 25th until March 18th will have a domino effect around the world.
Mercury Retrograde in Pisces
This cycle particularly affects religious gatherings and religious institutions like the Church of England, Roman Catholic Church, the Hindu faith in India and so on. Mercury goes backwards and forwards from 0-5 Pisces.
It does so from February 1st to 18th and then from March 19th to 23rd.
Mercury Retrograde in Gemini
This period sees cancellations and delays globally for public transport, commuting and short-haul flights. Eurostar for example or budget airlines. As Uranus is also in Gemini this transit is unpredictable and may come as a shock for some people. Extreme weather and/or strike action is more likely. So is hacking or digital failure. AI will be chaotic on this transit. More than usual!
Gemini also rules the internet and media so this is a chaotic period online and offline too. From June 27th until July 12th (vacation and summer holiday season for half the world) Mercury is retrograde at 27-29 Gemini. If you have chart factors here then it’s personal.
From June 27th until July 12th specific brands like Eurostar, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta (if it still exists), Tesla and other transportation/communication corporations will be affected by stop-start, go-slow and cancellation.
Mercury Retrograde in Cancer
Mercury Retrograde in CancerFluctuating property prices are common on this cycle along with cancelled or delayed appointments for builders, gardeners, real estate agents and builders. Cancer rules property, homes and families. Family reunions may not go as planned.
Mercury Retrograde moves at 0-6 Cancer in 2027 and if you have factors there, it’s personal. May 29th to June 26th chimes with the usual ‘re’ prefix on Mercury matters, like scheduling or the share markets.
Mercury repeats on July 13th-19th. Extreme weather may affect family holidays, Air BnB and other obvious targets. Coming and going, to-ing and fro-ing, are typical of Mercury Retrograde, pictured here on Fleet Street. Dithering, hesitating, cancelling are common. Prince Harry walked into this cycle during his chaotic trip to the United Kingdom in July 2026, together with Meghan. The Buckingham Palace accommodation was cancelled.
Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio
This is the banking, share market and real estate cycle which halts proceedings or sends people back to the drawing board. Wills, legacies, mortgages and life insurance, trust funds, stocks, cryptocurrency and taxation are particular targets. Mercury moves backwards at 0-4 Scorpio so if you have factors here it’s personal. September 28th until October 16th puts you in the zone, whatever your birth chart looks like. Equally, November 10th to 13th.
Chiron in Taurus is in opposition the whole time so September 28th to November 13th increases the risks of share market extremes. Seek financial expertise from professional advisors.
Mercury Retrograde in Libra
Mercury Retrograde in LibraThis particular cycle affects dating, marriage, divorce, de facto partnership and separation. It also affects professional partnerships and lawsuits. Mercury moves backwards across Libra 19-29 degrees so if you have factors here it’s personal.
September 17th to 27th is the first wave. October 17th to November 10th is the second wave.
And that ends Mercury Retrograde for 2027. Those moments when Mercury is pausing and hesitating, sometimes retracing his original message, affect us all. Always get things in writing, read the fine print and have Plan B and C.

I would like to ask about Mercury retrograde and the stock market, how they relate because I have seen stock markets going up in November 2024 after Trump was elected, and then they crashed after. Since then and in 2025 even till today, they have been fluctuating, up and down, Mercury was retrograde when Trump was elected. And everytime they go up Trump takes credit, when they fall he is quite. I am not sure where they are heading now, we just saw massive SpaceX IPO in June, and it seems to be loosing steam now. what can we expect in the stock market in future? Is the stick market also intertwined with politics? who governs the country?

Hi Jessica I have Juno and Ceres at 2 degrees of Scorpio, panacea 01 degree Scorpio and Bacchus at 04 of Scorpio. With quite a number of other factors between 0-4 degrees of other planets and signs. Cosmetic surgery is best done away from Mercury Retrograde (and those dates for 2026, 2027, 2028 are on my website). This helps reduce the risk of cancellation or delay with appointments. The face is your First House and so you would want good transits in your solar and natal First House for that (publicly and privately, your concern with your appearance). You have nothing in the First House natally but as a Sun Aquarius woman you most certainly have Pluto and the North Node in Aquarius, in your solar First House, together from the end of July. So this will transform the way you look. It will also owe a lot to what was happening 18-19 years before, right through the rest of 2026 and 2027. As you have Mercury Retrograde in Aquarius at the start of next year, you may want to avoid that 20-29 degree Aquarius interval when paperwork, emails, phone calls and even transport to and from the surgery is more likely to go backwards and forwards (or be cancelled). So January 25 through March 18 is best used for research into a procedure rather than going ahead, astrologically speaking. You can get good homework done on prices and outcomes even if you find yourself ‘rehearsing and reversing’ which is normal on this transit. March 19th onwards looks promising, Venus is in Aquarius in your First House so women who are obsessed with their own face (who make great cosmetic surgeons) are around you then; Venus does in fact rule the mirror and beauty and she will be in the First House with Pluto until March 26th. Next year, the retrograde in Gemini & Cancer hit very close to home with my mercury & moon in Gemini & Sun in Cancer. I think I was born under a mercury retrograde

Being mindful is half the battle with Mercury Retrograde so you steer your ship in the right direction and don’t run aground as much or as often as others. You were born with Mercury Retrograde in Gemini in the Third House of media and internet so whenever that is triggered, will be held up, or go backwards. Do keep an eye on that when you have Gemini transits going over Mercury; short journeys and commuting would also be affected.

As a Sun Aquarius I do have Mercury RX passing over my Chiron and Midheaven. I note what you told the woman above in the comments that Pluto and the Node are visiting Aquarius, too, ….then Venus after a bit. With my Venus in March very close to a hit. Cecelia, your home is always Cancer/Fourth House and it should show up in both your solar and natal chart if your rental ends. You are a Sun Aquarius woman having a Chiron in Taurus transit in your Fourth House. It’s empty natally so actually real estate doesn’t define you. Back to your solar chart we go. It’s a long shot but a person best classified as a maverick, outsider, experimental scientist with houses and apartments (land and gardens too) – is here. He or she will encourage you to see what you can get away with. It’s a fit, if it confronts or even outrageous more traditional and conservative people – at least in the context of property and home, in general. Will it work? It will do, eventually. Hi Jessica, currently I am experiencing disrupture in my life again and am wondering about Mercurys impact to come. I am nearly for 2 years in a new yob and my boss left the company this week with a Bang. Being the personal Assistant brings great ? up for me again. Three years ago I lost my job, similar situation group cfo against group ceo, 3 years ago and now all over again. Thanks to your great contribution 2,5 years ago I gained a new job, rather last minute. Meanwhile I am 62 and it is not easier to find a job in Germany. My Boss up to now wants to take me to his new Job (2028?), I assume it will not be before 7/28 if at all. I feel quite desillusioned about all. However my position is different to the last years, where no one stood up for me. The positive change was that my Boss asked the Top Investor to “have an eye on me” and he already protected me from being dismissed, asking the CEO`s to find something for me. I feel it is better to leave the company (The Investor who protected me leaves end of the year) and am wondering how to bridge the gap, financially. In a previous post you hinted in my horoscope better chances from mid 2028. The past 16 years I had thankfully had some helpers at my side going theough this phase and one helps me with the regular attacks, the other with Tarot.
