The August 12 Leo Eclipse
The New Moon in Leo on August 12, 2026 at 1.36pm EDT is a new beginning. It is also a blind spot and cover-up so you may want to judge or act later. It’s like a green light covered in a black bag.
An eclipse conceals, it never reveals. In this feature I will repeat a prediction about an information blackout concerning Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and other names linked to underage sexual abuse.
Many people will be trying to glimpse the eclipse with special glasses. What you see, will not be what you get. Eclipses coincide with astonishing lack of awareness; a lack of insight into (even) one’s own behaviour. We don’t know what we’re actually doing on an eclipse.
That’s why they are best avoided for anything major. And really, it’s just a day or two out of your life!
I will also look at your Sun Sign and the headlines there. Finally I will look at your birth chart, if you happen to have Leo factors there. The total solar eclipse falls at 20 Leo.
Eclipses have been tracked by astrologers for centuries as well as astronomers. This illustration (Picryl) shows the famous blackout effect well. It is very common with redacted information. The black strips pasted over words in ‘released’ documents like the Epstein Files.

World Blackouts
This eclipse is the second chapter of eclipse predictions I published on 17th July 2017 about world leaders and their sexual relationships. Titled Leo Weather in Astrology 2017-2019 it named Lolita (though I did not know why at the time), Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, the Trump family, Prince Andrew and Virginia.
Additionally – I did not know that Virginia would turn out to be Virginia Giuffre. You can read it here. There will be a second global cover-up and blind spot on this eclipse, related to this.
It is very common for there to be a distraction or diversion so that we are pointed in the wrong direction. The classic example of this is the eclipse that took place on the day of Diana’s honeymoon with Charles. All eyes were on the beautiful bride and nobody was looking at Mrs Camilla Parker-Bowles.
Princess Beatrice
Princess Beatrice has Mercury at 22 Leo and her personal birth chart falls in the eclipse zone. Mercury rules her media and internet, as well as paperwork and her signature. It concerns her private life and the world of babies, children, teenagers and young adults. Will we see an event involving her? No. Will we not see an event? Exactly.
Epstein, Andrew, Mandelson Cover-Up
The cover-up at the August eclipse matches the 1999 cover-up eclipse. Same sign – Leo. Same issue – the Royal Family.
This is a Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew, Peter Mandelson blackout of information. 1999 was the year they were photographed and filmed together.
The Great British Info Blackout
Expect the Great British Info Blackout. This is the most complete solar eclipse in 27 years with more than 90 per cent of the Sun blotted out by the Moon for onlookers in London.
The photograph from the U.S. Department of Justice files with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor (formerly Prince Andrew) and British politician Peter Mandelson sitting in bathrobes alongside Jeffrey Epstein in Martha’s Vineyard around 1999 is part of the new cover-up at the August eclipse. Both men have denied any criminal wrongdoing regarding their historical ties to Epstein. This is a good video from The Times’ channel on YouTube about that year.
Leo In Your Own Birth Chart
If you have anything at Leo 20, 21, 22 then avoid the eclipse for all Fifth House matters, which Leo rules. These include love affairs, stepchildren, sons and daughters, godchildren, the sexual side of marriage and the usual ‘heirs, spares and pretenders to the throne’ which accompany this sign. Also included is the royal bedchamber (yours). Don’t assume or guess as you could be on the wrong road for years. An eclipse is like driving without headlights on a road with no street lighting.
What About Jupiter and the South Node in Leo?
It’s quite true that Jupiter and the South Node are also in Leo. Jupiter is always a big solution or a huge opportunity. The South Node is always karma from 18-19 years before.
Does this affect the eclipse? Yes. But an eclipse is still exactly what it says on the tin. You are blocked.
It can take months, even years, to wake up and realise that you were being hoodwinked. It was not until the publication of Diana: Her True Story in 1992 that the world knew the truth about that eclipse honeymoon. That came 11 years after the 1981 wedding of the century. So you see…
Or rather, you don’t see!
Beyond Epstein and Maxwell
The issue of under-age sexual abuse goes beyond Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and stretches into the ransacking of childhood on the internet; the robbing of girlhood and so on.

This eclipse is an important part of a long overdue, global correction on issues like pornography, the male takeover of young girls’ spaces including change rooms and public restrooms (trans) and naturally, trafficking. It also reaches into the age of consent.
So, the total information blackout is part of a wider story. The karma began for certain people in 2017, 2018 and what they set up, they must now answer for, according to all the laws of astrology.

Getting Eclipses Right
Getting eclipses right means nothing more than studying history. They are largely negative because they so often chime with deliberate concealment. Calculated cover-ups. People hide what they do not want you to know. That is why eclipses are best avoided.
The most famous eclipse of the 20th century occurred when Lee Harvey Oswald left one job, to go to another, where he would be accused of assassinating President John F. Kennedy. But that’s another story.
Skip the eclipse and be aware of big, bright, brilliant distractions of the ‘Look over here! Not there!’ variety. They’ll be pretty obvious on the day itself.

Another post that gives me the chills and that too on my birthday. As a Leo I’m almost scared to ask how this eclipse will affect me and what I need to not make decisions about on Aug 12/ 13, but any steer is most welcome.
Chills are a sign your spirit guide is standing in your energy field and saying ‘Yes.’ Eclipses are not to be feared; just avoided. The fork in the road is best left alone. In general your chart is hugely Leo and you are in fact a Leo woman. You live in your Fifth House for much of the time. The Fifth House is about dating and the sexual side of relationships. It is also about godchildren, children’s charities, teenagers and young adults (personally or professionally), sons, daughters, stepchildren and so on. Yes, it’s good to see the astrology coming true. In a matter of days we have seen the death of the Epstein modelling scout who turns up 2000 times in the Epstein Files – Jeffrey being that great friend of Donald’s. Daniel Siad was ‘found dead’. We are also seeing the law take the Tate brothers and Barron Trump called into question. All this is just the start of the Jupiter and South Node in Leo karma cycle, involving children and teenagers. Just sidestep choices about dating, the bedroom, babies, infants, children, teenagers and younger adults. You will not know what is going on, or see. You have Venus at 6 Gemini so I am not sure what you are talking about here. I’ll just look at your natal and solar chart together using the Natural House system and of course, your Sun Sign chart. There’s no eclipse contact. By far and away the most important story here is your Scorpio stellium in the Eighth House of joint finance, valuables and real estate. You are strongly Scorpio and spend a lot of time living in your Eighth House, for professional or intensely personal reasons. It is commonly associated with marriage and mortgage, family inheritance, a trust fund and so on. For the first time in 248 years Pluto is also transiting your solar Eighth House. Same life department. So slow, deep transformation is afoot. It will necessarily involve questions about who or what is in control. A will or legacy, or the big ticket items which feature on there (like an apartment, or an heirloom, or shares) will be at the heart of a major crossroads decision for you, in January and February 2027. Yet you will be aware of it within days as the nodes change signs and the transits really start to pick up your Scorpio factors. Hi Jessica, the August 12th eclipse at 20 degrees Leo is close to my natal Pluto at 24 degrees Leo, which has multiple aspects to my natal Sun, Neptune, Jupiter, in my natal chart. The I read your interesting post about these August eclipses am wondering if the 4 degrees orb is too wide to be significant. My youngest son passed away on July 13th 2 years ago, and my grief resulted in a serious health condition, that has just recently cleared up and hopefully won’t come back! I have been working towards re-launching my work and am hoping I am not missing some hidden underlying issues, given the nature of these August eclipses. I appreciate the blogs, very interesting. I am so sorry your youngest son passed away and understand why your health has suffered. Leo does of course rule the Fifth House of children. You have Juno, Vulcano and Pluto there. The eclipse is too wide to be in a conjunction to Pluto. A bigger deal is the South Node at 29 Cancer in the Fourth House of family. On July 13th 2024, Neptune was at 29 Pisces, trine the South Node. I am sure you know the South Node is about karma, past lives and reincarnation. You knew him before. Whatever soul contract was in place, in your life between lives, suggests Cancer-Capricorn. Your North Node is directly opposite at 29 Capricorn. You have Saturn at 29 Libra so were actually born with a Grand Cross. (A cross to bear, as they say). Saturn at 29 Libra is in your Seventh House of marriage and partnership so this was obviously about his father, too. What does a Neptune transit do? It brings another reality. It’s real, but on another level, not real at all. It can be confusing. We can feel ‘all at sea’ without an anchor. Neptune also moves very slowly so this was a rare transit, picking up what is also rare – a T-Square. Multiple transits usually show up when there is a major event like a loss. Thank you. Your Sun at 22 Leo is too wide for the eclipse, which is at 20 Leo. In modern astrology we only use a one degree orb. However you have a large Leo stellium in the Fifth House of dating, sexual relationships, babies, children, teenagers and younger adults. The last time we had these Leo eclipses you had breast cancer hidden in plain sight. This is of course about naked sexuality as well as breast feeding – you were moving to Los Angeles which had nothing to do with the eclipse – but in your Fifth House of lingerie, the boudoir and children – it surfaced as a blind spot you had about your own body. Thank goodness you worked through it and today you have another eclipse. In a nutshell if it’s about the Fifth House, don’t judge or act for a couple of days. Thank you. I am in Melbourne for my birthday and loving every minute of it, I must say. Your birthday gives you the Sun at 19 Leo in the Fifth House. The eclipse is one degree off, but within orb, so your identity as a lover, partner, occasional date, mother, godmother, aunt (and so on) is blacked out. There is a cover-up or blind spot about this. Normally you shine at your brilliant best in the bedroom, when dating, or with the world of babies, children, teenagers and young adults. This may be for personal reasons (family) or professional reasons (your job) or because of unpaid work you do, or have done (charity). What happens on the eclipse is up to you. If it’s a Fifth House matter don’t go there. You have a huge stellium in the Fifth House anyway; you are Queen to a younger court and also monarch of your royal bedchamber. The funny thing about eclipses is – you won’t know. I could tell you which areas of your life suggest you will be blind-sided and you still wouldn’t be able to do much about it. In general, friends and groups suggest low visibility. Just skip those two days. You can’t see and don’t know. It may become evident, years from now.

‘Am I doomed?’ is a funny question to see on an astrology website. My other amusing favourite is when people search my name and World War Three, to see if I’m predicting it. You are not remotely doomed. In fact, you have Jupiter transiting your packed Fifth House, and then your equally loaded Sixth House, for the rest of 2026, 2027 and early 2028. Rare opportunities and solutions not possible in 12 years emerge with dating, the bedroom, babies, children, teenagers and young adults. After that, irresistible chances for a superior lifestyle, paid role, unpaid position or university degree turn up. Thank you. Birthdays are always in the Australian winter for me and if I’m really lucky it snows on the mountain. Your question about eclipses is interesting as I’ve not read this explanation before – that they last for a year. I am not entirely sure what that is based on. Eclipses are cover-up jobs, blind spots or deliberate distraction tactics, put in place by people with power and money. The sign tells you where the concealment is. When we had eclipses in Leo, which rules ‘the king and his bedroom’ Prince Andrew was covering up his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. For most of us the eclipses are also personal too. And it typically takes years (not one year) to wake up and smell the roses. Just skip them. It’s easy to do.

Thank you. I was just given two lovely new armchairs for my birthday so it is definitely the gift that goes on giving (four days later). Uranus at 19 Leo in your Fifth House is an indicator of lifelong independence and freedom in the world of intimacy in the bedroom – but also a perennial pattern of change and new beginnings – with the world of pregnancy, babies, children and young adults. It’s quite common with unplanned pregnancy. It also turns up when there is such a strong drive for freedom that one falls in love with people who are never going to hang around. Thank you. Eclipses are not inevitably about earth changes at all – and astrology doesn’t predict death. Eclipses do show cover-ups which affect the whole world for years into the future. The hide-and-seek of the Sun and Moon typically results in rich and powerful people playing hide-and-seek with the public. The rot with Epstein began on the Leo eclipses. Leo has always ruled the bedroom, to put it politely.

Yes, you will be in the dark about yourself if you have a Sun and Moon conjunction at 20 degrees of Leo. You will be staring the truth in the face and not see it, or be deceived by a cover-up. For example you may not realise you are pregnant or you may not see that your boyfriend is having sex with another woman behind your back. Eclipses are not necessarily negative but in general when you are left in the dark about parenthood or the bedroom it is usually because people are committing some kind of sin and hiding it.

Well, you’d qualify for a Fifth House distraction or diversion, so the usual ‘Look over here and not here’ message will arrive about dating, courtship, the sexual aspect of a partnership, pregnancy, children or younger adults. I always give the example of Diana, Charles and Camilla on the day of the eclipse. Everyone looked at the stunning new bride and nobody looked at Charles boarding the yacht or Camilla wearing a nice shade of white in the congregation. Leo has nothing to do with exam results and nor does Aquarius. Look at Sagittarius, Virgo and/or Capricorn in your chart for the story there. Something as basic as your Sun Sign can also show you transits in your Ninth, Tenth or Sixth House (academia, career or workload). Best of luck.

An eclipse isn’t unusual when people pass away because it’s always about a cover-up. A family inheritance is often about what is concealed. People take their secrets with them. It’s also the case that when people pass, they can request their letters (for example) are destroyed. it’s not that unusual and nothing ominous. But an eclipse does what it says on the can. It blots out and obscures. It is also true that a story can never be told in full about the past when somebody leaves us as they take the truth with them.

Thank you. Yes, the eclipse is a cover-up involving friends and groups. People look for an event and there is nothing to see. No need to be nervous, just don’t act or judge. Do that later when light will be shed. For example, I had a reader who decided to set her sights on a friend as a potential boyfriend, on the last Leo eclipse (she was Libra). This was some years ago. He was in a cult which involved being celibate. He hid that from people in case they thought he was peculiar (he was). She didn’t know and wasted a lot of time fancying herself in love with him, while he led her on and took her money (she employed him). So you see. It’s not a good idea to act or judge on an eclipse because people hide what they’re up to. This eclipse has nothing to do with your son. This eclipse does make me nervous, in 2017 two relatives died within a day of each other, a co-worker got married on the day of the eclipse, timed no less for total darkness in the town she chose to marry, I did advise her to reconsider, they’re divorced.
I hadn’t given much thought to that eclipse while it was taking place, other than the aforementioned wedding. While reading your blog, mine appears to be my home, the mortgage is up to date, I’m still employed, thankfully. I’m keeping my eyes open since I recently found out the HOA hadn’t told us about a deductible for storm damage, we shall see this week at the meeting they’re holding. Astrology does not predict death (cannot and should not) but an eclipse on a wedding can unfortunately lead to total blindness about the realities of the other person’s situation and personality. The most famous recent example of an eclipse (actually a sequence of them) was Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s agenda, with the truth hidden in plain sight with, among others, Prince Andrew – who has become the most public fall guy. It was possible to predict that and I did. This eclipse is again in Leo which picks up them (and that) – and in your own chart, picks up finance, real estate and valuables, business and shares. This may well be the storm damage issue. In general, though, you just won’t see it or know it, either. So without over-dramatising what this eclipse can do, just bypass. It’s not the time to sign on the dotted line, accept a signature or make decisions based on what you think you know, financially. Last time was regarding a serious health issue, but I am happy to report that treatment was successful.
So, now seems a good juncture to see if my astrology holds any answers to another dilemma – this time financial.
Two years ago, my brother and I lost our parents (both in their early 90s) within 7 weeks of one another. My brother and I are both single, we share our home and are doing our best to move through our grief and adjust to the new normal.
Recently, however, I’ve begun to feel despair mixed with a sense of panic about what remains of my future and how to keep things afloat for the both of us. It feels like life is becoming less and less about the realm of possibility and expansion, and more about restriction and decline. I’m absolutely exhausted and finding motivation is difficult. This is all very new and very strange to me. I’m under constant stress and worried about losing my income and our home, not being able to afford health insurance or basic necessities. (In truth, our nuclear family has never experienced financial ease, stability, or security.)
Huge, unexpected expenses arise that need to be paid. This week, for example, our car will have a repair costing around USD 4,500 – and that’s on the low end of the estimate!
Unfortunately, my brother and I will never receive most of our inheritance due to a fair bit of cheating by unrelated individuals. To support our household, I’m currently working full time in a well-paying, 100% remote position with no retirement benefits. While this job has been a lifeline for us, it could potentially end around November of this year, and I will need to find new employment – ideally well-paid, remote, and long-term stable.
I’m still “young enough” to work for maybe another 8-10 years – that is, if I can keep it together. But honestly, I don’t think I have the energy or interest and can’t realistically work “forever”. Also, I’d definitely be an outlier in the workplace age-wise…
Retirement isn’t currently a possibility. Several huge missteps earlier in my life coupled with a lack of planning, have led to where I have very little retirement savings, and at this point the prospect of building a retirement income is unlikely. This is critical given my age and financial responsibilities. And, while most of my friends are retiring and enjoying their lives, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to unless there’s some absolute miracle.
Really hoping that my astrology holds some clues regarding the above and/or potential solutions that I might be able to pursue.

I’m glad to hear your health issue has gone, SKW. So, what’s going on financially? You are a Sun Leo, which is the most important thing, and will save or make a great deal of money when Jupiter goes into Virgo and your solar Second House of personal income, real estate and valuables. So that’s mid 2027 to mid 2027. At the same time, Jupiter will trine your Taurus stellium in the Second House (same thing – and a trine is flow) and sextile your Scorpio stellium in the Eighth House of joint finance, which includes your brother. A sextile is flow, too. So, for whatever reason, you will have the best Jupiter transit in 12 years, from the middle of 2027 onwards. Your solar or Sun Sign chart shows what is public and obvious about your life. Jupiter is a symbol of growth, solutions and expansion. Your Second House is about all that you earn, own and owe on your own merits (not including your brother). Long-term you do have challenges from 2028 onwards, but if you take expert advice on how to make the most of 2027-2028 then you will be in a much better position in 2029. Have a look at your Tarot too; the cards usually echo the chart. Just follow the steps. A good question to ask is, ‘How can I capitalise on Jupiter in Virgo from 2027 to 2028?’ and ask about the highest potential then to save or make money. As for retiring, it may be better that you don’t. Goodness, 13 years is a long time to have an email and text relationship, EveRose. You just cut ties. So is this the eclipse coming up, or something else? You are a Capricorn woman as you know, with stelliums in Scorpio, Sagittarius and Virgo.You also need a job. Starting with your solar (Sun Sign) chart, which is always most important, it’s clear that you are winning freedom and independence for yourself by not actually having a permanent role. It may not feel like that, as you are an earth sign, famously ambitious to get the top, and tend to see your professional life as a slow upward climb. And yet here you are in the most unpredictable work cycle of your life. It also gives you space, room to move and a slow revolution. The eclipse at 20 Leo is best sidestepped for acting or judging on these matters. Without an eclipse, a New Moon on your Sun would just be a fresh start for you. As a lover, a partner, a parent, godparent and so on. Perhaps as a result of a professional or unpaid involvement with younger people. This is no ordinary New Moon though. You cannot see and do not know what is going on. So don’t make a move or make up your mind, until the eclipse has gone. It will take months or even years to realise what was actually happening. I have been doing some deep soul searching as well as work with tarot and looking into my past and lineage. Especially, my deep and twin connection with my father who is no longer with us. So much of my life is even now and future, by choice, is attached to his career and past deeds and inventions.

My education is left unfinished in a doctoral program … I won’t state which one. Presumably, this refers to some sort of limited-term set of financial challenges after the Jupiter transit, perhaps during the second half of 2028 into 2029? While it’s a remarkable benefit to be astrologically forewarned, I admit that this is distressing to hear, as my financial stability has always been tenuous, and the thought of facing any financial challenges ahead, at this stage in my life, is quite concerning. I’m not sure how I would be able to physically, mentally, or emotionally continue to contend with that…
Ideally, I’d be able to establish some sort of passive income stream that would allow me to enjoy “golden years” with greater security and freedom. I agree about not fully retiring for the reasons you mentioned, but it would be wonderful if working could eventually be an option rather than a necessity.
