Foreign Countries and Foreign Ties
Well, Aries, the only sane thing to do in the December South Node situation (while this cycle lasts, anyway) is to roll up your sleeves and get to work on a coping strategy that will not only make life endurable – it might also change you – for the better. It ends on January 19th as I am fond of telling people when the South Node departs your Ninth House. Until then, live with a hamster wheel as best you can and try to find some good cheese.
In all Ninth House areas – long-haul air travel, emigration, people from multicultural and foreign backgrounds, publishing, religion – you now need to be philosophical about the stuck tape situations – and creative about the perspective you choose. Doing so can (ironically) make you happier. Yet, January 19th, 2022, is not that far away, so hang in there.
Career, Unpaid Work, Courses
If you treat your career as an excuse to master your own thoughts and feelings, you can develop professional superpowers now, which will change you (for the better) for the rest of the Pluto cycle in 2022 and 2023. Let’s not mince words, though – you will spend long periods of time feeling as if the choice is to either feel dominated in your professional life now – and your career, and other areas like study – or to wrestle back the steering.
If you don’t have a part-time or full-time job, then this applies to your unpaid mission in life; your position as a professional, housebound wife/husband/partner; or other roles that define success and status for you. You have had Pluto in Capricorn since 2008. There will be the usual reshuffles, mergers, departures, promotions and arrivals in December, January – not just because it’s the end of the year – but because at this time of year you always have Capricorn weather, with Pluto. The trick is empowerment via willpower. Control with self-control. Those are the rules.
Commonly, though, this cycle finds you facing a career situation which can give you tremendous clout, if you can seize the day. The Pluto transit in Capricorn in the Tenth House of your solar chart is among the most empowering of cycles if you hope for increased status or professional growth in this 2022-2023 period up ahead. By offering you clients, bosses or colleagues who do and say the one thing designed to make you push back all the time, it will force you to change something about yourself, so that you become far more potent.

Well, you have a Uranus-Saturn square to end 2021 and the exit of Jupiter too. This is entirely about your role, goal, position, mission and ambition. In plain English, the time has come to work with basic realities about 2022 that you can already see – and look for a bit of lateral thinking.
This also applies to the general sweep of your industry, field or business. Larger forces beyond your control, like this historic Uranus-Saturn predictable situation will take you even longer than a year to absorb and take on board, Taurus. Instead of the usual organic growth and natural forward flow you might expect, you will have to slow down. Saturn works on slow time and from the closing days of 2021 you’ll see that.
Taurus, redefining what success means to you could be helpful. If your old ideas about what makes you feel fulfilled, happy, powerful, high-profile, or indeed seriously successful, are making you question yourself, it’s time to stop and find out why.

Foreign People and Places
The world of words, ideas and communication will ask new things of you now. This is the cycle when language differences (and differences in accent and culture) really hit home. Saturn is in your solar Ninth House, without Jupiter, as December ends. That’s important. It’s a challenge. And you can experience it at home or away (if you are even travelling in 2021).
The eclipse on December 4th in your zone of duets and duels, is also a reminder (perhaps connected to the above, perhaps not) to judge or act another time. Be aware of your blind spots, then.
Obstacles with travel, or a yearning for an easier answer to a vexed destination question, is very common during Saturn cycles like this. Duets, Duels and Capricorn Weather
Well, you’re in deep Capricorn weather this month. The Venus-Pluto conjunction in your sector of duets and duels talks about power, and control, in quite an obvious way – but the question of how to balance the scales is there all month.
Destiny will pair you up with someone now if you are single. The duet could be any kind of double act at all. The person in question may be a permanent part of your life (for obvious reasons, it may be the partner you live with), or he/she may be new to you. Venus says, “Whatever the connection, make it work now, or you’ll never get anywhere.” Venus with Pluto, in combination, suggests that if you feel you are being dominated, pushed around, or someone is lording it over you – then you need total self-control to get the control back.
Venus is about building bridges and making connections. It’s about walking hand in hand, even if the person in question really is your ex. Venus is about seduction and being seduced. Pluto is about people who want to pull the strings. Be really aware of that, right into January, as a choice calls you then.

What you want so much, in terms of empowerment in December and January (and that’s really all the situation is about) is now available. The more cleverly you manage the other person or people now, the easier it will be to progress. It’s just about people skills. The connection you share is challenging, not to mention politics between others (which Pluto always delivers), and in many ways, Leo, for all that it’s intense – it’s the launch pad you need.
The Uranus-Saturn square in your sector of position, mission and ambition has a lot to do with this. It’s unusual. A landmark, actually. Radical change, greater freedom, space and independence will be squeezed out of it, but as always, you or others will find a situation very hard to square!
Leo, for the next few weeks, into a major January choice, you’re going to be faced with a fairly demanding journey, and you can’t sit on the fence, or you’ll get nowhere. Do find the common ground you share if you can. That’s your foundation stone. Where can you both work from? What’s practical? Duets, Dates, Duels
Don’t date (online or in the real world) at this time unless you actually like waking up next to an alternative universe. This being the Jupiter and Neptune transit, to end all Jupiter and Neptune transits. It begins right as December ends, Virgo.
The dating days that belonged only to Neptune, resulted in people say ‘Umm’ or ‘Oh’ or ‘I’m not really sure’ or ‘I’ll call you’ or vanishing acts (ghosting being a Neptune term) – are also vanishing. Really? Yes, that is what Jupiter can do. Neptune brings fuzzy thinking and vagueness. Jupiter replaces it with solutions and opportunities.
Virgo, if you are serious about finding someone new to love, or even serious about fixing things with your ex-partner, then the days around New Year’s Eve will be a turning point. If you have ever shaken up a snowdome and watched the flakes whirling around before they settle, you will have a clear picture of what this cycle is like. Usually on this Neptune transit of many years you have had fog and a misted-up snowdome. Now, you get glitter. 2022 looks fascinating for romantic and sexual duets, Virgo.
If you have a duel, though? This hopeful message from Jupiter, changing signs as December ends, also applies to the state of play with enemies, rivals or opponents. You are undoubtedly going to find them on your radar at this time, because various year-end discussions, letters, Christmas e-mails, calls or actual plans will be unfolding. Well, it’s about time you were given a solution or a big break, Libra. I’m talking about work, unpaid work or study- and the very end of December into 2022. This also applies to the general sweep of your industry, field or business. Larger forces beyond your control will now produce a highly fated situation lasting a few months until May – then back in your life around October 2022, so no longer than a full year, yet enough time to say “Yes”.
Libra the usual organic growth and natural forward flow you might expect, from Jupiter entering your lifestyle and workload zone, means redefining what success means to you in 2022. To feel fulfilled, happy, powerful, admired, or indeed (funny old word) successful, is the reward you always receive on this transit.

The Duet or the Duel in December
Other people’s children will powerfully affect you now, Sagittarius, if you do not have children of your own. December may be about dating a divorced father, as much as it is about your own marriage and family.
We have transits in Gemini, your opposite sign, so Christmas is about your opposite number, or the other side. It really depends on if you are duelling or singing from the same page in a duet.
You also have Chiron in your zone of sexual relationships, babies, infants, children, teenagers and Millennials. From May 2022 he is joined by Jupiter. So, your head is playing the long game now, and 2022 will be a very different (better) game. That’s why December is so important.
Sexually, you’re ready for your wake-up call from May 2022, and again in the first 5 months of 2023. Your previous sex life may be good, bad, indifferent or non-existent, but for the twelve months or so that Jupiter is in your Fifth House, in Aries, from May 2022 – you will be handed a new erotic menu. If you are single, destiny will line you up with a new lover (or more than one) who will take you to the next level if you are willing to explore. That’s what Chiron and Jupiter tend to do together. It’s like a punk rock band on a road trip.
And the duel? Well, you know, Seventh House transits by the North Node can produce sparring and feuding as much as a two-way street. Sagittarius, you will be pleased to hear that December is the last full month in around 18 years you will ever have to sort out this karma again. Ambition, Position and Mission
Your part-time or full-time job, Capricorn, will now challenge you to find a new way to look at a situation which challenges you with its intensity! Your entire C.V. since 2008 has taken you to this point, and it’s the kind of classic Pluto transit of your natal Tenth House (where your Sun also is) which cannot be changed. What you can change, however, is your attitude towards power and control. As you always know what’s coming next, given that you’ve seen it every Christmas since 2008, that should be easy; you’ll have plenty of time to ponder what you might do, or say, in response to that same old issue about empowerment.
It’s that classic question about who the Top Dog is. There is usually a lot of shuffling around at this time of year, because you have your Solar Return, either in December or January. The old rule applies. If you want more control, then use self-control and do not give in to the behaviour patterns that put you second or third.
If you want the power back (taking back the power you actually once had) then you will have to use sheer willpower to make yourself do, what you know, actually works!
This is the whole point of this Pluto in Capricorn cycle. It has not been sent your way in order to educate you. You have already done that. You can see it on your C.V. At some point in this cycle, which ends in 2023, you will become so thoroughly ‘educated’ about success, or work, that you will realise your only way out, is to crack your own shell, and be reborn around the time of your birthday. That may be near Christmas or well into January, but it’s coming.
If you are retired, unemployed, housebound or just have full-time home responsibilities, all of the above applies to your own daily routine, and usual domestic life.
Your health, medical condition, stamina, life force and wellbeing are also in focus now. The North Node always makes us feel as if we are going through the motions. Yet this ends on January 19th, 2022, and as this sector of your chart is also the work zone, it’s valid to say that your body or your mind, body and spirit together – have played a big part in what has unfolded, with work (or study). If ever there was a concurrent ending/beginning – a new phase replacing an old phase – it’s January 2022.

Friends and Groups
Well, here comes the Sagittarius eclipse. Skip it, please, on December 4th – if friends or groups are involved. You will not see who/what you would normally notice. There are better times to decide or act. Now, Aquarius, you are heading towards karmic closure with friends and groups by January 19th. You may long for other people to say or do something different, before that date, that will change your situation – or fantasising about some kind of change for Christmas. Astrologically speaking, nothing will lift until this cycle is over. You can double that if you also have not just your Sun in Aquarius, but other horoscope factors too. Why? Same story in your natal and solar chart if so. It’s all about the Eleventh House of communities of allies.
In the meantime, however, you can consciously develop a particular way of managing the ‘stuckness’ which will leave you feeling happier and calmer. It’s true that the South Node in Sagittarius promises that the escape route will be discovered within, primarily because you won’t have an alternative when particular friends or groups keep taking you back, back, back to life as it was around tw0 decades ago! (Or even to the Eighties). Thus, to carve out a constructive, creative way of managing the repetitiveness in your social life, friendships or groups will, paradoxically, make you feel free, at last. (‘At last, at last, free from the past’ was the line in Orlando). You know, at some point after 2023 you will look back at 2020 and 2021 and understand the point. It was part of your training for future potent results.

All Change in December and January
Don’t just sit there waiting for the South Node to move out of your Tenth House of career, unpaid work or study in December (it goes on January 19th). The whole point of the endless repetition in your life, in terms of your job or course, or your unpaid efforts, is to give you a decent chance to work hard on developing a coping strategy that will not only help you – but also change you for the better. Even at this late stage, Pisces. Perhaps, particularly at this late stage. Do look again at your employers, staff, colleagues, clients and so on. Your tutors, classmates or professors.
Can you change the other person? No. Can you change the set-up? No, again. This cycle is not meant solely to stretch you, though. In actual fact, it could permanently change your attitude towards your title, image, profile and role, in a way that expands and improves your entire life. But…you’re going to have to work at it. The breakthrough moment for your name, reputation, look (and the rest) comes right at the end of December when Jupiter enters Pisces for the first time in 12 years. Relaunch? I should cocoa. You’ll be a new person in 2022.
Begin with the idea that you cannot alter your nodal cycle in December, regarding your position or mission – but you can alter your state of mind. This will mean trying a variety of angles. The world will shortly have a new angle on you, too.
