Quick Guide to the 12 Asian Signs

If you don’t know your Asian sign and were born in January or February, you can calculate it using your time, place and date of birth here.

The reason an online calculator is needed to decide your Asian sign is simple. The start date varies between January and February because it is based on the first New Moon in the Asian lunar calendar. And that changes every year.

However, if you (or the people you know) were born in March-December, the Asian sign will generally be right on any quick look-up guide. Just remember that if you or anyone else was born in January or February, you will need to check time, date and place of birth.

The Dog

1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018, 2030*

There will be a coronation of sorts in your life this year. Out with the old monarch and in with the new. This can happen at work because there is a takeover bid, or some politics which means the old boss is replaced by somebody new. It can happen at home because there is a battle and only one winner. This big change at the top – either the top layer of work, or the head of the household at home – scatters the group. This is something else you need to watch. Whenever there is a shift like this, people have to figure out what they are going to do and where they are going to go. It’s not enough for somebody to seize the day and get the position – they need others to back them too.

The Dragon

1904, 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024*

You will play the role of peacemaker this year and beat anybody who wants to be a troublemaker. Being two steps ahead of a group will help you to outwit people who can’t even see you. By getting rid of anything that could be used against you, or others, you will successfully banish any chance of others’ plans getting off the ground. The world needs more fearless and clever dragons like you, and less of those who like to plot and plan. Just move a little bit more slowly and cautiously, though. Don’t rush this or get too pleased with yourself that you are succeeding. Take a deep breath and really work your strategy so that you have a 100% result. Then leave them to it. You’ll have triumphed.

The Pig

1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019*

You can’t buy good health and wellbeing, no matter if it is mental or physical. Yet it can be helped a lot with money. This is the message for you, or the people who matter to you, in Year of the Dragon. When times are tough and there has been illness, injury or mental health challenges, it can seem enough of an effort to just put one foot in front of the other. Yet, there is hope. And there is certainly enough financing, no matter if this is a bank loan, insurance, government benefits, charity or another source. Perhaps you need to think completely differently about a situation and make that assistance your next goal. Maybe you can help others to do the same and assist on the path.

The Ox

1901, 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021*

This is a year for working hard and making money. You will realise that you have developed your skills, talents or professional abilities to the point where you can deliver what people want, to the same solid standard, every single time. You will be recognised as a craftsperson of sorts this year, as you have what it takes to shape and create end results which people can rely on. This applies no matter what kind of work you actually do. In the back of your mind is a house, apartment, property investment or holiday home. Front and centre is a steady income for you, as everything you produce in the Year of the Dragon helps you achieve your goal of paying off a mortgage, buying or seeing profits.

The Snake

1905, 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025*

You have a big choice to make this year between left and right, West and East, or yes and no. It is one of the most important crossroads of the 2020s but if you are going to select the right path, you need more than intuition. When you find yourself trying to guess what to do, stop Guessing and imagination are not useful. What will work, when the time is right, is the ability to stop trying to defend yourself and start seeing clearly. In Year of the Dragon we find you on guard, all the time, but that does not help you move on. When your natural psychic ability tells you the coast is clear, drop the defences and remove whatever stops you from clear perception. A brand new life is waiting.

The Tiger

1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022, 2034*

After everything you have been through in 2023, Tiger, you need a good long rest. This may be because of illness in 2023 or because you had too many battles to fight. The good news is, Year of the Dragon is your rebirth year. It will happen at exactly the right pace, so there is no need to rush your reawakening and relaunch. You will also answer your own questions about a mother-child relationship this year. This may be your memories of yourself as an infant with your own mother. Perhaps this is your own son or daughter, or a child you would like to give birth to one day – or adopt. What might seem to be a vision or daydream could be real if you see another angle when you’re ready to.

The Rat

1900, 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020, 2032*

You will be offered the choice between taking the same path in a partnership or two-way situation this year – or going your own way and leaving the other person behind. A financial, property, charity or business issue won’t wait in Year of the Dragon so this will help spur you both on to make a crossroads decision. It is also possible that you could both decide to take the same path, but in a unique way that you invent yourselves. Or – you could head towards the future by creating an alternative map to get to where you both need to be. There are two homes here, or two work places. This may be about a marriage or a professional double-act. It may be about living together, too.

The Rooster

1909, 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2017, 2029*

The group you are involved with in 2024 through to early 2025 will stand or fall by your input. You may think there is just one of you, and many of the rest, but if you are going to restructure and get somewhere together, then your personal contribution will be vital. You can communicate with someone else in this club, team, committee, society, association and so on. Together you can then persuade another pair, and from there you can build on the solidarity. You all need unity, good timing and a determination to land in the right place at the right time. If you don’t, then letting things take their course will probably mean the end of the group – or a mess to sort out later on.

The Monkey

1908, 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016, 2028*

Monkey, this is one of those years when you need to export your projects, plans, ideas or qualifications to another part of your country or another part of the world. Nothing will grow where you are. Yet, this year, you will see a boom – when others race to take their own concepts or sales pitch too. One particular location is the place and this is rather like a California Gold Rush or an Australian Gold Rush back in the 19th century. The trick to success this year is to juggle. Don’t think you just have one potential success and ignore one or two other proposals. Those could also work very well and being a multi-tasker is a better idea. Don’t procrastinate either. Get moving. Join a boom.

The Horse

1906, 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026*

You will be offered a large sum of money in Year of the Dragon and it will help you improve your house, garden or apartment – or travel. You could also move with it. This enormous lump sum needs to be something you feel you deserve. You can turn hypothetical into real by appreciating why you have a right to the money. From there it is a matter of reaching for it or just gratefully accepting when it is offered. Sometimes people let a chance go by, because they don’t believe it’s right, or they don’t think it could possibly happen to them. Money is just something to be turned into – a trip away. A new house or apartment. A better garden. And why shouldn’t you have that too, horse?

The Goat

1907, 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015, 2027*

This is the year you will break free and leave the past behind, Goat. You will move to a different place to live or work once you are liberated. In 2023 and perhaps earlier, you were surrounded by people, organisations or situations which were against you. There is no future in being stuck with the memories, though, or even imaginary concerns that more could be coming. The truth is, the past is the past. You are in a strong position to take firm action and get rid of whatever traps you. From there, you can at last see clearly. Stop guessing and assuming, or making things up in your head. Find out how free you actually are to move on – a completely different place is waiting once you do.

The Rabbit

1903, 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023*

You are in for a year of stunning success, rabbit. Victory is yours. This may be a promotion, a sought-after new job, a terrific result at university or college – or just a big hit. If you have a battle to fight then the odds are in your favour. You cannot do this alone and there will be people around you with similar ideas, plans and projects. Yet you are the one who is seen as the ultimate victor. Make sure that everybody feels included. Together you are far more powerful and although you will truly deserve your moment of glory, if you want to achieve more in the future, you will not rest on your laurels, but bring together everyone who is on the same page as you, too.
