Temporary residence in the world, no fixed address. Like A Rolling Stone, to quote Dylan. This hexagram can answer a very simple question about a holiday romance. Will this man or woman commit? Well, he or she is a wanderer. Perhaps, only if you travel with them. The transition you make when navigating unfamiliar territory is part of this hexagram. Uncertainty, not having your bearings, not being grounded is part of Wanderer. A stranger in a strange land needs to obey local customs and laws too. A wanderer is also there for the adventure, the freedom, the occasional excitement – it is hoped. Wandering the moors or wandering the streets of London can be exhilarating.
In Paris, if you walk the streets in an experimental way, discovering and exploring rather than rigidly confining yourself to maps or guides, you are a Flâneur.
