LIMITATION

 

True freedom comes when you accept boundaries, bars and barriers. They are there for a reason. A bird in a cage is protected from predators and fed regularly. Even allowed to escape the cage on a daily basis. Security often comes with limitations. The balance between liberty and rules is suggested by this I Ching hexagram. If you are enquiring about marrying a particular woman, for example, you are told that you will be limited to her, the home and the children. You may very well be delighted about that. Knowing your limitations is wise. Without limits there would be constant car crashes. Setting regulations on speed (or alcohol intake) just makes the wheels go around in society. Limitation is about the sensible measures you take to make your life function well. Yet if you are a free spirit who cannot bear anything stopping you, understand this hexagram.
