I was introduced to the Lenormand Oracle by my friend Justine Picardie when she was researching her definitive biography, Coco Chanel – The Legend and the Life.

Chanel kept a set of Lenormand cards in her apartment and Justine was curious to find out more about them.

I have used the Lenormand Oracle for years. It’s a beautiful deck which is deceptively simple. The symbols can be powerful. Even life-changing in some readings.

How to read The Modern Lenormand Oracle

Well, always begin with the present. Relax, make some tea, have a notebook and pen to write down your answers – and date your question.

To begin, draw one card to accurately reflect the main story in your life at present. If you don’t get it right the first time, try again. Tune in.

Test what you know to be true already. Ask this kind of question: ‘If my life to date was summed up in a Lenormand card now, what would it be?’

Once you are satisfied with your accurate answer, ask your question. ‘What will the outcome be by (date) if I do this?’ or, ‘What is the best way to approach this, until (date)?’ Perhaps, ‘Who am I and what am I all about, so far?’ or ‘How does my husband see me at the moment?’

If you are still not satisfied, try another day. But for the most part, your first card will tell you about yourself now – and the next card will answer your question.

I have modernised the deck in order to reflect the 21st century as well as ancient history, in this guide.

This is designed to be an oracle for today, which also honours the past.

Date-Stamped Timing

There are only 36 cards in the Lenormand Oracle so the answers are broad, but thanks to synchronicity, the cards can be specific and exact.

You can use them with astrology, for date-stamped timing. The Modern Lenormand Oracle also works well alongside The Astrology Oracle, The Smith Waite Tarot, The Modern I Ching and The Garden Oracle on my website.

Think of these decks as different camera angles on the same scene, in the film of your life. You are the director and writer. You can change the action – rewrite the script. The angles help you decide. For the best results keep a journal.

Example of a Lenormand Reading

The Lenormand cards bearing her name, are an accurate channel for psychic ability, even though Marie did not create them.

The Modern Lenormand Oracle, which I have interpreted written for the 21st century, can give accurate answers to any question. So, for example –

‘What is my date really like?’ Answer – Fox. He’s clever.

And – ‘How should I approach my job interview for the best results?’

Answer – Fox. You are job hunting, but you are also being hunted, too.

Know the territory beforehand. .

A final example? You ask about your prospects in television and pick up Fox.

You might work for Fox, writing episodes of The Simpsons. The cards can be literal.
