August is dominated by fire and air cycles in Leo, Aries, Libra. If you have a lot of fire and/or air signs in your chart, this is a ‘start’ month. Fire signs begin everything, and it takes off. Air signs make it work. The fire signs are of course Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. The Air signs are Gemini, Libra, Aquarius.
Even with Mercury Retrograde and Venus Retrograde, we are still going to see the typical ‘strike the match, stand back’ outcomes of Fire-Air patterns.

Aries, it’s a matter of sorting out what matters long-term, from what matters short-term, this month. I can see why the Sun in Leo, New Moon in Leo, Venus in Leo will focus you on courtship, the bedroom, babies, children or a younger generation. Yet, in the long-term scheme of things it doesn’t really matter, unless you are also planning to split or commit.
If you have Leo factors in your natal chart, life will go backwards and forwards with love, sex and parenthood so you need to read this. This may in fact be just another circuit in your life and it’s not really going to matter long-term.
Do you also have Libra factors, though? That is a different matter and if so, life 18 or 19 years is coming back to you. And this is big. If you are engaged, marrying, separating or divorcing – or just planning to have a child, adopt, become step-parents – then karma calls. This is the South Node in Libra cycle. There may be issues about your son or daughter; the marriage itself; affairs. This is pretty common with the South Node in Libra cycle. You can read more about that here.
If you are on the verge of big decisions about sex or parenthood, then I would expect the New Moon on October 14th to bring them in. That is also an eclipse, though, so if the other person is talking about mid-October for paperwork skip that actual date.
Allow August-October for all of the above. Expect people to reverse decisions. Expect yourself to reverse yours. This is all typical of Venus Retrograde in Leo.
What else is going on this month? Mars in Virgo is alongside Mercury Retrograde in Virgo which suggests you need to allow for cancellations and delays with work, unpaid work, academia and health matters. Try to finalise before it begins on Friday, August 4th.

The month is dominated by the house, apartment, household, family. Perhaps, your hometown or homeland. Allow until October for this to sort itself out, as Venus Retrograde in Leo classically brings unresolved matters. Typically, husband and wife, mother and son or in-laws feature. If you actually have Leo factors in your natal chart, then this is absolutely about your family. Read more about that here.
As I said, the Leo transits around home, people at home, actual hometown are not very big or important, long-term. In fact by the time Venus is out of the Leo loop on October 7th you’ll put it all behind you.
What else is going on this month? Mercury Retrograde and Mars in Virgo are with you in your solar Fifth House. This is about courtship, the bedroom, babies, children, teenagers and a younger generation.
Again, if you have Leo factors in your natal chart, this is personal, and you need to see how your public chart and private chart are agreeing. If you do have Leo factors, then your life as King or Queen to a younger court, or King and Queen in the bedchamber, is in focus. Nothing will be final until October so allow for that. Back to the Virgo transits. No matter what your chart looks like, you have to allow for stop-start and delays involving your son, daughter, young relatives, godchildren. Your lover or spouse. This is more likely to change your life if you have factors in Libra, as the South Node is also in Libra. We have general flux on Mercury Retrograde, which I predicted a year ago (See feature here).
However, if you find you are in ‘split or commit’ territory, or if decisions really profoundly affect the partnership, I’d bet you have Libra factors and are going through karma from 19 years ago, or so. Find out more here.

The Leo transits now are about the media, the worldwide web, education, academia, publishing and ‘the word’. They are only important in the context of August-October as these Leo cycles are not really in the game for you long-term. However, you are the communicator of the zodiac so more affected by other signs. You find the words and make the connections. You may find Venus Retrograde shows up as a complicated relationship on a project or course, in which case it’s out of your life on October 7th.
The other important factors now are the Virgo transits. Your ruler Mercury is retrograde here and this is your sector of housing, accommodation, apartments, the family, the household, your town and country. Mars is also here. So, there is heat and action, but you can expect stop-start and even cancellation on agreement, paperwork, negotiation. Bear this in mind if you are going to auction or dealing with builders. Again, I don’t think it’s a particularly big deal over the long-term and, in fact, you would expect Mercury to be out of the Virgo loop on 30th September. And with it, any stuck circuits. Just be aware that people go back on their word on this cycle.
What else is going on? Well, the Sun also enters Virgo on August 24th, and we have a Full Moon in Pisces against the Sun in Virgo on August 31st, so you’d want to skip past that Full Moon (allow a day either side) for selling your apartment or moving a flatmate in.
I’ve not spoken about the Libra transits, which are important if you also have Libra factors in your natal chart. This is about your duet or duel.
We find the South Node in Libra, Ceres in Libra and Mars in Libra from August 28th so those scales have to be balanced. A lot of this is karma from 19 years ago, or so. You are proceeding towards a Full Moon on September 29th and then a New Moon Eclipse on October 14th, here. So this is an August, September, October process.
Lots of you will split or commit. Many more will ‘agree to differ’ or compromise (Ceres is always about compromise). This applies to work partnerships, lawsuits or happy marriages alike. Libra rules two. If someone does suggest October 14th (or the days either side) for a meeting or signature, skip it. It’s an eclipse.

We have a fair bit of action in your finance, charity, business and property zone in August. I wouldn’t normally talk about this so much, but my eyes are on 2024, because a lot of the numbers now, relate to life-changing decisions at the New Moon in Aquarius on February 9th next year. There will be a change in the balance of power with your finances, starting at any point after January 22nd, 2024, when Pluto also goes into Aquarius.
This is the sign that rules your bank account, house or apartment. So August does matter. Allow a complicated relationship to spin its wheels, regarding this, until Venus Retrograde is out of the Leo loop. That’s October 7th.
It is possible this involves the children, or young relatives, in which case you need to read this as I’m fairly sure you have Leo factors in your natal chart, read more here.
The action in 2024 is really about financial and sexual relationships, or your parents (or the other person’s parents) and the money. This thing has a long lead time, though, so take your time and use your dates wisely in August.
You would skip the Full Moon on August 1st and allow a day either side. A Full Moon is a full stop for the numbers or calculations. It’s not a green light. Even if you then see a fresh start on the Leo New Moon of August 16th, I’d still allow for one complicated person or situation to go back and forth until Venus is behaving normally on October 7th.
Do you have Libra factors in your birth chart? This is even more important, no matter if you are paying child support to your former wife or thinking about getting married. Libra is about ‘the two of us’ or ‘me versus you’. We also have a ton of Libra transits in August, with Mars changing signs there on August 28th.
If you do have Libra factors there will be a bargaining agreement by September 15th and it could be as mild as splitting your salaries in a fairer way, or as massive as a divorce. It really depends on your personal chart. More here on that Libra cycle.

Leo, if you have Aries factors in your natal chart, then August, September, October are relaunch months for you. This is about a new reputation, a new title, a new appearance. You have life 18-19 years ago to thank for what happens. Not only do you have transits in your solar First House of image, but you also have them in your natal First House too.
Even if you don’t have any Aries factors, when we see the New Moon in Leo on August 16th it’s time for a new you. The only issue is Venus Retrograde, which means the process is stop-start or delayed. In fact it will be like this until October 7th. Have Plan B and C for a photo shoot, film shoot, new haircut, weight loss, new job title, new website. Venus is stuck.
All this Leo action takes place in your natal Fifth House, which is also where we find your Sun. So very publicly, August is about courtship, the bedroom, children, teenagers or a younger generation. If you have not yet already had your solar return by August 1st, you will have it by August 23rd. So you ‘feel seen’ regarding your life as a parent, single person, lover, wife, husband and so on.
Normally this would not matter very much as we get these fleeting Leo transits all the time, but if you also have Libra factors in your natal chart, then August is important. The central duet or duel in your life is being played out in quite an obvious way from August 28th when Mars moves into Libra. In fact there would be a new deal between you and him, or you and her, by September 15th. If you do have Libra factors read this.
The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 1st of August would make those issues very clear. If we are going to see you split or commit, it would be set up now and the moment of truth would be January, February 2024.
No Libra factors? I still think that Full Moon is important. You will come to a full stop then with a duet or duel. Very likely sexual in nature. Perhaps a professional partnership. In any case skip it; you want the new chapter between you on February 9th, 2024, to be easy.

Virgo, we have Mercury Retrograde in Virgo as well as Mars in Virgo in August and the Sun goes in there from August 24th. The Full Moon against the Sun in Virgo is on August 31st, so give that a miss. None of this is very important long-term. The Virgo transits don’t last. Yet, it does matter in terms of your title, reputation or appearance.
Double that message if you have anything in Aries in your natal chart, as your First House of branding is also under transit.
Box clever in August. Allow for stop-start and cancellation with (say) a photo shoot; a new title; a public relations campaign. Mercury Retrograde is about having Plan B and C. Do get that if you’ve not done so. I gave you all the dates last year, so here they are again.
If your Sun is in Virgo actually on a Mercury Retrograde degree, so at Virgo 8 through 21, then this is personal. It’s about your work, unpaid work, academic work. It may be about your health. You really need Plan B, C and D as the best-laid plans will be held up or come to nothing. This is basic astrology.
Something that doesn’t normally come up with other people is your religion. Your belief in the Tarot. Your self-help or therapy. Your counselling. Your hypnosis or meditation. Yet, in August it matters very much. Double that message if you have any factors in Pisces in your natal chart. For whatever reason, August is really a moment of truth for you and God, or your rejection of God. For some people, there is no God, there is only Carl Jung!
Dreams are also part of this transit. There is a new beginning here on the Leo New Moon in your solar Twelfth House of inner life on August 16th. Yet if you also have Pisces factors, I expect that Full Moon in Pisces on August 31st to be a real ‘moment’ as they say. Decisions are going to follow, and it doesn’t matter if you know the Archbishop of Canterbury, or you are seeing a psychologist.

Libra, the month of August is about your friends, social life, and the groups you are surrounded with, or the groups you are a part of. The Full Moon in Aquarius on August 1st will make this clear if you happen to have factors in Aquarius in your birth chart.
Even if you don’t, you can expect a very complicated friendship, or a complex community of people, to take you backwards and forwards on Venus in Leo Retrograde. Venus rules you and she is all about the layers. This all happens in your sector of social life and social media, so nothing is really final until Venus corrects her motion on October 7th.
If you do have Aquarius factors, that Full Moon is decisive and it will affect what you do in January, February 2024. This may be a cricket team. It may be a children’s charity. There will be an historic change in the balance of power then, Libra. Just skip the actual Full Moon itself as you can ‘feel all the feelings’ without making difficult decisions.
Onto other things in your chart. Do you have Pisces factors? If so, August is really important in terms of religion, therapy, psychics, spirituality, hypnosis, meditation, mediumship. In fact, the Full Moon in Pisces on August 31st looks like a time of reckoning. You don’t show any of this on the outside, but on the inside, big wheels are turning. You might take on (say) trance mediumship or firmly reject (for example) the Church of England. You might hire a therapist.
What else is going on in August? Well, your reputation, appearance and title are very important from the moment Mars changes signs on August 28th. Mars in Libra joins the South Node in Libra, but also Ceres in Libra. There is some kind of carve-up going on about your profile, name, image or look and it won’t be finished until the middle of September.
If you have Aries factors in your natal chart you can double that message. This is a proper relaunch.
The duet or duel in your life is also crucial from the 28th of August, because you are so much identified with the other person; the other side; your other half. (Don’t you know it). In fact a great deal will happen very quickly. For some of you this will be legal.
If anybody gives you October 14th as a date, avoid it, it’s an eclipse. Yet, by mid-October the entire process will be done and dusted, be it getting engaged or calling it quits.

Scorpio, the friends and groups zone of your chart shows stop-start and cancellation in August. It begins with Mercury Retrograde on August 4th and ends on September 30th, 2023. It may be the Freemasons or your trade union; it may be Twitter or your old friend. Nothing sticks and everything changes or is scrapped over time. Have plan B and C.
If you have Aquarius factors in your natal chart, then this is very important. If so, the Full Moon on August 1st is a bridge to cross. What you feel then will dictate what happens in January/February 2024 with this group. You may quit or see somebody else go, for example. The friendships or allies may be reshaped.
I would expect (even without Aquarius natal chart factors) more action than usual until the 27th of August with Mars going full pelt in Virgo. Yet it’s an odd sort of action because, for all the talking, and emails, and paper trails – nothing is resolved for a couple of months. In fact one friend may change his or her mind. You may go back on your word. As I said, it only really matters long-term if you have Aquarius factors.
The other key point about August is your Pisces factors. If you have them, then you are going to make big decisions about your religion, your therapist, your psychiatrist, your medium, your psychic, your hypnotist in August. Nobody else can see what is going on, but for you this is important. You have a ton of transits hitting your Pisces factors, you see. And in your solar chart we find a tremendous compromise with your psychologist (say) or priest, right into September.
What else is going on in August? Well, there is a lot of stop-start with your career, unpaid work or academic career. It’s really because of a woman or an effeminate man and Venus Retrograde suggests rethinking, reconsidering, and all the re prefixes. This rolls on until October 7th. This is a complicated relationship for you or someone else. Your boss may be having an affair with her intern, for example.
Normally we wouldn’t pay that much attention to your ambition, position and mission, but you also have the North Node in Aries in your Sixth House of workload and wellbeing, so one affects the other.
If you have Capricorn factors in your birth chart, I expect a reshuffle comes out of this in your career, on your course or in your field – in December 2023, January 2024.

Sagittarius, foreign people and places matter more in August. This shows up in your natal chart and solar chart. You have a bridge to cross on the Full Moon on August 1st and a new beginning on the 16th of August. All this Leo weather is really about the stop-start process around you, no matter if people are cancelling or delaying trips, or you are having a long and winding road with a different culture or nationality. It ends when Venus Retrograde stops on October 7th. It’s not life-changing stuff, but something else is far more important, and that’s local and regional travel, and also your commuting.
I mention this because the full stop you reach with your train, car, bus, domestic or short-haul itinerary is clear on August 1st. It relates to a new beginning in January, February 2024 which really is important. This may be when you stop flying altogether within your own country or buy an electric car. It may be when you figure out the usual NYLON pathway very differently. It’s different for everyone. Further, from May 2024, I would expect any Sagittarian with Gemini factors in his or her natal chart, to be welcoming an amazing new era with commuting or regional and neighbouring travel.
What else is going on in August? Well, we have Mercury Retrograde in Virgo. This is going to delay and cancel quite a few professional, unpaid work or academic arrangements. I published the dates a year ago so you could plan around. Look here.
From August 4th to September 30th, 2023, you will rewrite arrangements, nix contracts, see people change their minds and so on. There may be bigger concerns like a spike in COVID-19 cases in your office, resulting in rescheduling.
This is not particularly an issue unless you have factors in Capricorn. If you do, then what happens in August makes up your mind about staying or going in December 2023, January 2024 – or other people will similarly decide to quit or go for promotion. This does affect you because within your field or business, it’s about power. And don’t you know a lot about that if you have factors in Capricorn!
Even if you are Capricorn factor free, August still matters because the Full Moon on 31st August is really a full stop. You have to accept nothing will be final until Mercury behaves himself again by 30th September, but while the wheels spin with people you will also figure out so much about the whole deal – not just success – but what success means to you.
Should you have Virgo factors too, you will also be looking at your wellbeing. Your mental and physical health. This will be weighed up against other factors, like working for the man (or the woman) or employing staff. Studying or even not working, gainfully.

Capricorn, the Leo transits in August are about your bank account, house, business, charity, apartment, valuables and life budget. This is really important as you will change so much in January, February 2024 and a lot of what happens then, owes itself to now. These Leo transits take place in your Eighth House of sexual and financial relationships (marriage and mortgage is typical) but also inheritance and legacy (what you receive from your parents, or what you leave to your children).
The Full Moon on August 1st is important as it is a full stop in proceedings. Do you have factors in Taurus in your natal chart? If so, this entire year is about the numbers and adding up the emotional value of those calculations. You may want to read this if you have Taurus factors because until May 2024 you are in one of the most important financial cycles of your existence
Even if you don’t, you still need to look at August and the accounts, then look at January, February 2024. Either you or another will make a sign-up or sign-off decision then. It may be selling an asset. It may be investing.
The other story now is really the Virgo Mercury Retrograde in your Ninth House of foreigners and foreign countries. Travel disruption is common on this transit. I gave you the dates last year so you would be aware.
Others may postpone or cancel a trip, or you will need Plan B and C. Despite all the fantasising and denial about COVID-19 it returns in waves and there will be another one on this Mercury Retrograde. That will affect many travelers. Here is the original prediction if you missed it.
It’s not a particularly big deal, Capricorn, but it may scupper your plans or somebody else’s.
Looking around your chart I do spy a reshuffle in your career, on your course, or in your chosen field, if you are a volunteer. It really kicks off in December 2023, January 2024 when there are promotions, demotions and disappearances. Mergers and new deals.
Yet, it all starts here, and it begins with Mars in Libra from August 28th. This ups the ante considerably and you’d expect some compromise to unfold by September 15th. This is not finished, though, and as Pluto continues to trawl through your natal Tenth House, the people politics and power questions go on. They intensify at the end of the year and start of the new one, but they have their basis in August. You’d skip the Full Moon on 31st August for decisions here, just because it’s such a stretch. Duty, service, all those ideas about a work ethic are on the line then for you or other people.

Let’s have a look at your duet or duel in August, Aquarius. There is a full stop, paragraph ending and new chapter on August 1st. Give or take a day for time zone differences. This is not the time to press ahead, no matter if you are competing against the other side, actually fighting the other side, getting into bed with someone, or figuring out the marriage. This also applies to work partnerships.
August is split or commit time for many Aquarians, as we then go to a New Moon on August 16th. And yet this still isn’t decided with any finality. For that you need to wait until Venus Retrograde is over. She is of course a symbol of seduction, affairs, adultery, mother and son relationships, and in-laws relationships which affect everything in a partnership.
Symbolically and thematically Venus is complicated and a big ask. So that’s life with your other half, or the other side, at least until October 7th. Just knowing it all goes back and forth gives you the comfort of knowing this takes time and August is not it. No, not at all. There may be a new beginning with or against this person near the Leo new Moon on August 16th, but this is by no means final and there is more to come. Wheels spin in September.

In either or both cases, Aquarius, August is really important for your marriage, divorce, common-law marriage, separation, child custody and so on. Leo rules the bedroom, courtship, babies, children, teenagers. Libra rules the wedding, the break-up, the reconciliation, the affair and the rest. Depending on your chart this may be ‘mild ripple’ or ‘big wave’.
What else is going on in August? Well, apart from all these Leo and Libra cycles, which both show up in your Seventh House of duets and duels, we have Virgo transits too. For you this rules the money, the house, the apartment, the business, the valuables. The banking (and isn’t that an issue at the moment) or the cryptocurrency.
August is really important financially if you have factors in Taurus in your natal chart. If so read this. You see, Jupiter and Uranus are in your Second House of money and property, the whole time (in your birth chart) ruled by Taurus – alongside these transits in Pisces and Virgo.
Even if you don’t have Taurus factors, skip the Full Moon on August 31st for money or property decisions. It’s too much of a big ask.

Pisces, August is about your other half, or the other side. This may be sexual (dating, mating and relating – possibly separating) or just work. You have a lot of action in your opposite sign of Virgo, you see, which rules your opposite number. Or the opposition.
Allow for stop-start and cancellation with discussions or paperwork, online life and so on. You may reverse your words, or he/she may reverse them. Honestly, Mercury Retrograde in Virgo is notorious for ‘not final’ outcomes so just allow for shenanigans across this period. Mars in Virgo until August 27th suggests it’s you two, together, pushing harder and faster – or you two, against each other, in some kind of argey-bargey.
