Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto in Astrology

This is a quick look-up guide to the slow-moving outer planets and their cycles in astrology. The zodiac signs they pass through tells you where that will happen for you, from year to year.

Jupiter is a symbol of solutions, opportunities, growth, hope, optimism and expansion. The zodiac sign he passes through tells you where that will happen for you, from year to year. What about Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto too?

Your Horoscope and Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto

Sometimes you just want a quick guide to the ‘weather’ of this year and all the years ahead, to make broad plans. If you have your personal birth chart as a Premium Member, knowing the climate change to come, is easy. Just find the zodiac sign that a particular planet is passing through (sometimes for years) and look up the areas of life, ruled by that sign and house.

Example: Jupiter in Sagittarius is in your Ninth House in 2019, which rules travel, import, export and immigration. As Jupiter is a symbol of progress, hope for the future and breakthroughs, this is a good year to look at your holiday or vacation plans, or to aim to expand your business into another country.

  1. Hi j, I have Pluto in libra 25 degrees and my Ceres in libra at 25 degree, my marriage even before marriage has been a power struggle, I have Capricorn in Venus my mc my south node and Fortuna, and a massive Sagittarius and scorpion stellium. I’m sure there’s a story being told her with these archetypes, my husband has provided me fortune, children and giving me his heart but some days I don’t know if I want to stab it smother him. I am hoping Ceres and Sagittarius this year will grant me fortune because my Saturn return and Uranus showing up last year almost killed me. how Do you see this playing out in my chart?

    1. You can work with your birth chart to find a way through this. Marriage is of course ruled by Libra and the Seventh House in your chart, and the sex-and-money side of marriage is ruled by Scorpio and the Eighth House. The family is Cancer and the Fourth House. This sounds extremely intense for you emotionally so what is going on? In your Eighth House which rules property and partnership, family and finance, and the sexual contract of a mortgage or inheritance – se find Mercury at 29, Jupiter at 0, Vesta at 29, DC (Descendant) at 29 and Vulcano at 10. You two are in a classic Promenade a Deux and you may want to look up Scorpio and Eighth House on Search to find out more about this. The transits across 29, 0 are life-changing for you and we have one due at the end of 2019, as Jupiter (a problem-solver) goes across 29 Sagittarius, across to 0 Capricorn, in November and December. Without seeing your husband’s chart it’s hard to say if this is about him, you or somebody/something else, but you will get a break at the end of this year, thanks to wider changes affecting the world of work and employment, business and industry, politics and leadership. Expect a ripple effect that shows you a way out, or a way through, with the financial side of your marriage. The Jupiter-Jupiter sextile at 0 Capricorn to 0 Scorpio, for example, in December 2019, is rare and useful. In a general sense, to be born with Mercury at 29 Scorpio exactly conjunct Vesta at 29 Scorpio is a statement about one male/two or more females and I do wonder if you have a daughter, or if his mother or former partner is an issue for you. Please look up Vesta on Search and in your eguides. You of course have the DC or Descendant, which describes your husband, also at 29 Scorpio so this is a triple line-up and it needs management. You are going to see more triggers for change when Saturn goes to 29 Capricorn, 0 Aquarius which takes place at the end of 2020, so it would appear that Christmas and New Year of 2019 and 2020 are real transitions for you with the marriage. The Libra side of your life is described by Saturn at 18, Pluto at 25, Ceres at 25, Diana at 6, Apollo at 6, Aesculapius at 16, Ops at 27 of the sign, all in the Seventh House. What a line-up. You need to work on this. You would benefit from counselling if you have not already tried that, either in terms of yourself (alone) or with him. Pluto was Ceres’ abductor in mythology – there is a famous sculpture by Bernini of the moment of abduction. In your chart they are exactly together or conjunct in the Seventh House of partners, but also rivals, opponents and enemies. You also have Diana at 6 Libra and Apollo at 6 Libra, conjunct. They were brother and sister in mythology. You would have to expect past life agreements with your husband and perhaps the children; maybe either of your mothers. You have the North Node (karma) at 23 Cancer. There is a lot going on here, and as I’ve mentioned, most of it is across the next 12 months or so. When you reach your North Node return, which you just did (at 23 Cancer) you are sent back to the past, so a familiar theme or story from about the year 2000 is recurring. We can even go back into past lives here, according to Indian astrology in particular. No wonder you are feeling so pressured at the moment. I would be very surprised if you did not make your final decisions when Pluto goes to 23 Capricorn and opposes your North Node at 23 Cancer in the Fourth House of family and property, and that is January 2020, so again we come back to Christmas 2019. In terms of figuring out how to be happier; how to make your peace with these patterns; how to find a way through – do use your journal, Tarot cards and Astrology Oracle cards. Get to know these symbols and focus on the Eighth House and Seventh House and Fourth House. If you can find a counsellor or confidante even better. Deep breath. You will be astonished at how different your life feels once we go into the ‘mini Age of Aquarius’ which begins when Jupiter and Saturn move into Aquarius in December 2020 followed by Pluto in 2023. From that point forward you will have trines to all your Libra placements in the Seventh House and can move towards a hugely improved relationship with him (no matter if you are together or apart) and potentially with a new partner. It would never be perfect, easy or a picnic, but then you like ‘complicated’ and to some extent you engage with the passion, depth and intensity of the classic Scorpionic bond. At the moment it is painful but there is a way through. You will learn a lot by working with your chart over the next 1-2 years.

  2. Thank you ❤️ I’m the one with six children and yes all from him I’m always commenting on your site so thank you x

  3. Hi Jessica,
I have Jupiter and Saturn conjunct in Libra ,in my 7th house. Also Moon in Libra. In my last comment you told me that this Jupiter-Saturn conjunction is a powerful and uncommon one to have, with both positive and negative aspects.Looking back at my life,I can definitely say that my career and love life life has been affected,in the sense of many back and forth situations (and jobs),with no clear or rewarding end.I am so tired of it all! I just recently took a very big (and bad) hit career-wise,and beeing a Libra moon, with a soft side and maybe a somewhat low self-esteem didn’t help either.I am seriously considering a career path change but, again,I’m not sure if it is the wise thing to do at this moment.Could you give me an insight on this matter based on my aspects ?
    Thank you!
    Warm regards,
    Dana

    1. You were born with Venus at 17 Capricorn in your Tenth House of career, Dana, so your bad career hit recently is showing in your chart. For the first time in 240+ years Pluto has also passed 17 Capricorn. Saturn is likewise in Capricorn, and for the first time in 29 years (another unusually long cycle) you end up with Saturn at 17 Capricorn, similarly ‘on’ your Venus, as they say. This ends well. In fact you will get the opportunity, solution, answer, breakthrough and redemption you deserve, in the year 2020, when Jupiter (for the first time in 12 years) also moves to 17 Capricorn! Look up Venus, Tenth House, Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter when you finish reading this as the story is there. You also have the South Node of karma going across 17 Capricorn so there is some past-life closure to be achieved here, and there may also be a very familiar theme with your work, status or success from the year 2000. Venus in Capricorn describes a woman who is frequently involved in complicated relationships in her career, sometimes work romance, but in general, any kind of two-way connection (as with clients, staff, employers) is multi-layered and intensely personal, never just ‘professional.’ The huge traffic over your Venus explains the career situation. This can and does get better. Do use your journal, Tarot and Astrology Oracle cards to work your way around the issue, but know you are on the right path and this ends well for you.

  4. Hi Jessica, your weekly horoscopes and this post connected so writing here. Hope you get to see and respond. You talk of the Ninth House and Sagittarius at 24, and Juno and Vulcano at 24 Gemini 8 – 10 April in the weekly. That is exactly where my South & North Node are, which you also mentioned is going through a family/ home/ roots year. Also, my natal Vulcano is 22’29 Gemini.
I am submitting a visa renewal application this weekend for the UK, as I’d like to return home on my own terms and when I have maximized the opportunity built here over 2 years. In 2009 I moved to USA, but could not (even think of a way to try to) renew my visa in 2011.
In many other ways, the last few months have reminded me of the time between October 2010 – May 2011, though I had hoped this was my ‘it happens differently this time’ season and all the years of work and love lessons add to something positive. (Wondering if Uranus was connected to this timeline.) It all feels connected, and I was just wondering, do the star favour my intention and hopes this time, visa and the hope for meeting someone, or am I fighting against the tide?

    1. So you want to return to the United Kingdom – this is really about the Fourth House (home) but also the Ninth House (foreign people and places). If you can submit your visa renewal any time at all you may prefer to do that after April 18th when Mercury Retrograde finishes its last loop. If you do go ahead this weekend, just allow for possible delays and changes further along. You were born with Jupiter (blessings, abundant opportunities) at 2 Sagittarius in the Ninth House so you always have protection, support and help when you travel, emigrate, relocate, or enter into the world of publishing, education, academia and the worldwide web. You are another Indian reader (I assume) caught in the Brexit drama! The rules are going to be redrawn with the United Kingdom and Europe, and this will affect Britain’s relationship with India and Asia as a whole. This goes on for an entire 12 months and you will gain, if you are prepared to use both/all your languages, your contacts overseas and all Ninth House advantages (look that house up when you finish reading this). We are going to see a ‘Shock New Brexit’ within two weeks so you need to be sharply aware of the difference this is going to make to your career and finances. Uranus will quincunx your Jupiter, Chiron will trine it, then later on Jupiter will semi-sextile it, and into May 2020 we find Saturn also sextile it! Look up Jupiter on Search as well. You are an opportunist by nature, think positively, have tremendous faith in your beliefs (perhaps astrology or something more) and know how to give back. Do not miss this chance, so many doors will be banging open for you quite unexpectedly in 2019-2020. Love is another question. But never say never.

  5. HI Jessica, I just re read my annual horoscopes and blow me down, I was literally just offered a free overseas holiday to a women’s international yoga retreat!! I’m speechless and was wanting to say “hell yes”, as I know this is Jupiter at play and it would be life changing for me. I have my partner to care for our children but he became angry and said no as we’re in a tight financial spot and I need to get a passport. I’m absolutely gutted. I’m just so unbelievably distressed and heartbroken. Does this mean I will never get an opportunity like this again? Or will the stars align and provide a miracle to get me there?
    Thank you xx

  6. hi Jessica,
I am a Sagittarius born with Ceres at 26° Libra 19′ 16″ and Jupiter at 17° Scorpio 01′ 01″, both currently in Sagittarius, but in retrograde. What effect can be expected from them both going retrograde personally for me?
    Thank you!!!

    1. Retrogrades are not such a big deal, really. Mercury matters but planets like Jupiter, for example, tend to make a process of problem-solving, expansion, growth and improvement slow and circular and often people are happy to deal with that. Your stellium in Sagittarius is happily in the Jupiter zone and you will have been offered a wonderful chance to move or travel extensively by December 2019.

  7. Hello Jessica

    Ascendant in Sagittarius 9 degree

My dob is 28-3-77, 11:37 pm, india

I know I have almost written all planets here n this may require a detailed reading not possible here but have penned it down esp to make things comfortable to u so that u can tell me what best suits convenient to you here in this comment section pertaining to me…would really appreciate ur inputs… Thank u

    1. Thank you. Of all that you list, the most important factors here are in Taurus and Scorpio (money, property, business) as starting now, for the next seven years, you have Uranus (the revolution) going through Taurus and your Second House which rules your bank account, your income, your values, your life budget, your house or apartment, your superannuation/pension, family money and so on. Uranus is going to oppose Uranus at 11 Taurus eventually and in a few years’ time will conjunct your Jupiter, so you need to look up Uranus, Eighth House, Jupiter, Second House on Search and then use any online Ephemeris or book ephemeris to see when these patterns become exact. In general, wild and unpredictable economic weather is sweeping the planet and the arrest of people and organisations who have been money laundering, particularly those involved with crimes against humanity, is going to rock the entire political and business sector worldwide, repeatedly, within 7 years. Add the arrival of cryptocurrency to that and you have a ‘perfect storm’ of change. You will benefit by learning how to dance in the storm.

  8. I was born with Jupiter at 17° Scorpio, Saturn at 25° Sagittarius, Uranus at 16° Leo, Neptune at 05° Scorpio and Pluto at 04° Virgo.
My spouse is a Capricorn, and Saturn and Pluto are currently in Capricorn. These planets seems to be primary factors having a tremendous effect on my life, a hell right now. Is that a correct interpretation?
    Thank you!!!

    1. Thank you. Yes, you are reading your chart correctly, though some factors matter more than others. Transiting Uranus in Taurus in 2019 and 2020 will slowly but surely trine your Pluto in Virgo in the Sixth House. You control your workload by using your willpower to attend to the daily details of serving others – doing your duty by them – and this is how you discover just how effective and influential you can be. If you were in France in the 17th century you might be a valet, invaluable to the monarch. You can fill this role even as a C.E.O. by the way. The trine from Uranus suggests that in 2019 and 2020 the wider economic changes of what many astrologers are calling Global Financial Crisis II are going to directly affect how you work, why you work, where you work and so on. This is a completely new direction for the world, for your country and for you as well. Be aware of the trends economically and financially as eventually Uranus goes to 5 Taurus and opposes your Neptune at 5 Scorpio so you need to meet change with change and if possible reduce the ‘bubbles’ in your life. A classic example would be a property bubble. This is what you will feel most and notice most in 2019, 2020. Look up Uranus, Second House, Neptune, Eighth House, Pluto, Sixth House on Search to see the story.

  9. Dear Jessica,
Thank you for another interesting read, your words are truly much appreciated. I was just wanting to ask you if at all possible if you could perhaps offer some reflections in regards to my chart at all. I have been very active in my astrological studies yet have felt somewhat stuck through what I have experienced through the journey. Is there any possibility one could become depressed through realising the patterns to be discovered through astrology by any chance at all? For I don’t know where to turn to as my family do not understand this ability and feel I need to find some space but not sure if the chart aligns to favour such ideas coming to light. Could you by any chance offer any support or guidance at all? I have too felt uncertain as to where to channel my energy as I have recently received news regarding my fathers health I am concerned about. Sorry if I seem vague at all but any insight and guidance would be much appreciated. Take care, kindest regards, Bea xx

    1. Thank you. You are a Sun Gemini and this sign can often over-think things, Bea. Over-read, over-think, overspend internet time and live in the head! You need to find ways to use your whole body, not just your mind, to bring some balance back. Depression should not be the result of finding patterns in your horoscope. Depression is an illness like any other so if you have always felt it, or even if you have just felt it in the last 12 months, you need to see a doctor. Obviously your father’s health has worried you too and you may be over-thinking that. It may help to realise that you and he both have the transiting North Node in Cancer in the Fourth House in 2019, 2020 and so the wheel of karma is turning. Sometimes things take place to help you and he settle old karma with each other, going back to the year 2000 but also into previous lives. So, for example, he may have taken care of you when you had health issues, last time around. However the karma manifested, you two will now bring things full circle with each other and to some extent we have to let the North Node do its work. In India they call the Nodes Rahu and Ketu and very directly associate them with past lives and reincarnation. As for your own mind’s health – and state of mind – just as you would take extreme care of any other part of your body which needed work, so too, this is the time to ind out how to best look after your mental wellbeing too. Usually with Sun Gemini we find ‘too many words’ is the issue! If this sounds like you then find something you can do where you can park your very fine mind at the door.

      1. Thank you Jessica for your reply to my recent comment, it is much appreciated. So much in your comment is to make perfect sense, for indeed I do believe you are correct in regards to the ability to overthink. I understand, I’m just worried about going to the doctors about depression when it’s more of the metaphysical experiences that I believe to have experienced to be what I believe to be influencing the depression – worried they may look at me a bit confused? I feel stuck not going anywhere. Not moved from the same place for years in fear of the future. I’m concerned with various aspects as I have noticed Ceres is to be conjucnt my north node and the Saturn, Pluto and south node squares natal Venus. What could these impacts possibly suggest? Have I missed oppourtunity for higher education and travel? Or is travel in the mind the best place for me? Sorry for all of my questions but your clarity would be much appreciated =] Take care, kindest regards, Bea xx

        1. Bea, doctors are there to work – they need to earn money too – so go and make them do their job for you. They have seen it all, so just turn up and tell your doctor what has been going on. You are a born traveller and student of life – perpetual student – and will enjoy both in 2019 but only if you start to make a few changes. You need to get out of a rut. You have been ignoring a chance to take a journey and/or study a subject that fascinates you, since last November. The offer disappears in December so get a wriggle on if you need to. If you find it hard to wriggle on, then go see your doctor to find out why.
