As in medicine, so in astrology. A solar eclipse (if you stare at it without protection) can manifest as a blind spot in your central vision. As we’ll see in a moment, you won’t realise how much was blocked out and blacked out, until 17th October, then again from 27th December 2023 to 2nd January 2024.
An Unusual Situation
Avoid judging or acting dramatically on this unusual situation – the rare eclipse. It can only occur about every 18 months. Darkness affects visibility on an eclipse. In astrology it’s the same. You’ll be in the dark. Drivers reduce vehicle speed on an eclipse to allow for the darkness. It’s the same with astrology. Slow down.
The traditional advice for an eclipse (if you want to look at it) is to have protection. Again, it’s the same with astrology. Protect yourself for the short duration of the eclipse by making your big moves or crucial choices another time, in relation to the area of life listed next to your sign, above.
Misleading Elections and Referendums
This weekend of Saturday 14th October and Sunday 15th October, will see a misleading election in New Zealand and a blind spot referendum result in Australia. Have politicians actually chosen an eclipse to set a date? If so they will have to live with it.

You are a Sun Leo with a Virgo stellium so in your solar Sixth House of health you have Pluto and in your natal Sixth House of health you have transits which both help and also challenge you. Dear Jessica, I’ve been waiting for you to post about this eclipse. I’m grateful for your generosity by sharing your insight in these troubled times. I’m a cancer and I don’t have any factors at 21 Libra. Do I need to be worried about buying a property? I’ve finally found a house that I’d love to buy in Australia after looking for more than a year (auction is 21 Oct) but I’m hoping the eclipse isn’t hiding something. Is this a bad time to make a major purchase?

I always feel a sense of something ominous around eclipses….i asked tarot how this eclipse will affect me and I got knight of wands. One of my stelliums is in libra and my moon is at 21 aquarius. I dont really like this energy especially because of what is going on in the world with Israel this week. Although I am looking forward to the zoom this weekend!!!!

I started a very well paid temp mission at the beginning of the month to replace an employee in sick leave and I got terribly sick myself (stomach) to the point when I would have safely stayed at home taking the time to heal had I not pressure from the temp agency, the company and myself to keep on working.
I was still sick on Monday and decided to stop the mission at the end of the week whereas it could have lasted many many more months and more…
I don’t regret my decision as this mission was too much for me however I have felt guilty for not holding on because I could have reimbursed my debts much faster and even more when they offered me books and a lovely chocolate box at the end (!) (Friday 13th).
I know that I’m currently navigating in my 6th House, I also have Mercury 23 Aries and Saturn 23 Leo close to this Eclipse…

Your Sixth House is under transits from the New Moon Eclipse in Libra; Mercury and the Sun in Libra; the South Node in Libra. You have had stomach problems and are into the dentist on Monday. I’ve held my ground regarding enabling but was so distracted today on the phone I received a traffic citation. I am sorry about your granddaughter. The eclipse is over now and was just a reason to delay acting or judging for those few hours. ‘Can’t know and don’t see’ is the rule there. Grandchildren are a Leo matter in the Fifth House of substitute parenting. And also of course your own child, her parent. I added my birth chart I got wrong but I am a cancer sun. My 18 year old daughter just moved back in with me and my 5 year old son. I’m a single mom who’s been working extremely hard to create a better life for my kids and rectify my past mistakes.
I’ve just found out however that my daughter is far more deceptive and dark than I believed she was and I think it’s best if she leaves my house. I pulled the tower card and I’m so conflicted.

Stacey, the eclipse is now over, but your Tower card showed the mystery at home. Thus, your daughter. If you look at the actual tower you will see it’s dark inside; you can’t see what is going on. Yes, Libra is all of those. Libra the scales rules marriage, typically. It also rules the law. Marriage is a legal contract between two people, so both sides of the scales – and it is also the law, should that marriage end in acrimonious divorce. And yes, it can also be the law in a dispute with somebody you are not married to, but there may also be a sexual partnership imbalance, of the balanced scales, too. It eases up shortly.

The Israel-Palestine situation is typical of the Aries North Node and Libra South Node cycle, which goes back in loops of 19 years and is always about war and peace. The transit is over by early 2025. Russia is already losing the war on Ukraine (as President Biden confirmed a few months ago). So the world goes spinning and there is hope. The eclipse is over and done with now, but with factors at 21, 22 you will enjoy Jupiter (solutions, breakthroughs, opportunities) aspecting these in 2024. Next year will be terrific January-May.

If you don’t know your birth time, always use 12 noon, but don’t pay any attention to your Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven or Immum Coeli (the angles) as they will probably be wrong. The Moon will also be wrong. Having said that, the rest of your chart will be right for the most part. Membership is probably more worth it to you if you use Tarot, or oracles, as the digital versions of three decks of cards are extremely good value for money, even if you sign up for one month.

I’m sorry you have both marriage and work issues at the same time. And you are living with depression, which is a very tough illness to deal with. It sounds as if one transit is triggering quite a lot, and sure enough, Pluto is at 27 Capricorn and you were born with Aesculapius at 27 Scorpio and Pluto at 27 Virgo. This can only happen once in about 248 years. Pluto is about transformation through strength training. Aesculapius is about sexual and financial relationships and shows what comes back or ‘just when you think it’s over, it never is.’ So actually the marriage has bounce-back factor even if you are living with an unappreciative husband who does not earn his keep as you do. Yet at the moment it’s not working. Meanwhile over in your Sixth House of work, daily life, housework and health (mental or physical) you have Pluto trine Pluto. The eclipse is over now and would have been a blind spot or cover-up so it would have passed you by anyway. Money is Taurus/Scorpio in your chart and career is Virgo/Capricorn. The financial turning point is January 2024 and you would be using January, February 2024 to book what you wanted – with money. So just before the eclipse on Friday I was sent an email by my principal to tell me she wanted to see me about next year. Today she told me that the art teaching role which I have been in for four years, which I have shared (2 days each for two years) with a very difficult coworker is now fully being given to her. There was no consultation about this, it was delivered while I was dealing with something else, then all of a sudden two assistant principals came into the room and she delivered this news while they were all there together. Yes, if you don’t know your birth time, use 12.00 noon as your birth time. This gives you an even-Stevens chance of having the right chart. Just remember not to use the Moon, Ascendant (AC), Descendant (DC), Midheaven (MC) or Immum Coeli (IC) which are time-sensitive. The rest of your chart should be accurate, especially with the slow-moving outer planets like Jupiter and the like.

Yes, I reply to questions from non-members (although I can’t see a chart, so I only use your solar horoscope). The situation with your son, daughter or any other younger people in the family becomes more important in January 2024, February 2024 when you will need to figure out how to share the control, or share the power, with them. An outside professional will help. A long-running issue about the house, apartment, garden, local area, household and/or family regarding who or what is in control, ends in January 2024. You will no longer feel dominated and the issue will disappear (or you will no longer care). You will need to stick with the rule book regarding your health, wellbeing, housework, daily routine, unpaid work or paid work in 2024. There are no quick and easy ways out and you will have to do what others tell you is the done thing. If you are married or have a work partner, then there is karma between you two, going back 19 years as you owe him or her – maybe you are owed by him or her – and the situation between you will balance the karma in 2024. You will gain or save money until May 2024. This may be as basic as the value of your home going up, or you may inherit money, or be offered something for nothing in other ways, say, by your child. Hi Jessica, I’m from New Zealand. I have followed you for a while now and appreciate your information. I have a question around what you have said about our election on the 14th and it was misleading. I voted for the Labour Party who have now lost leadership. Was that because they held the election on that day. I feel that the new National led government will mislead most people here. Could it be possible that when all the special votes are counted that Labour will regain seats? I just feel that the new National Government is naive and could possibly harm our country especially the poorer citizens.
The eclipse was a blind spot for New Zealand and also a cover-up. It’s in the nature of eclipses that we will never know what it was, unfortunately. So a vote recount may be it; that would be a good candidate. However it is just as likely there was something else nefarious taking place. Australia had its Voice referendum at the same time. Again, there is something missing there. As all these eclipses are in Taurus/Scorpio it’s been about money. What a surprise! We have to move past that now.
