Mercury Retrograde in Libra and the Seventh House

Mercury Retrograde in Libra and the Seventh House - the missing pages from 2020 Astrology - Your Five Year Personal Horoscope Guide.

MERCURY RETROGRADE IN LIBRA IN THE SEVENTH HOUSE

Are you single? You’ll get an incredible amount of information about the person you want now, just by talking – or Googling. News, e-mails, letters or gossip about your former, current or potential partner will roll now. It will also be a changing story. Wait until Mercury is out of his final shadow before you make up your mind. If you are free and single, then this is also a classic cycle for non-communication. The returned calls or e-mails you need may go into a black hole.

If your priority is your ex partner, you’ll be amazed at how much you can find out about his/her situation. Mercury the courier will deliver the facts – and yet nothing can be counted as solid and lasting. Allow for that.

Mercury will provide you with the sources, contacts, networks and information about your marriage or partnership, if you are prepared to put in the work. Yet – you have to allow for the usual flakey progress of the conversation or even technical hitches/extreme weather and other x factors interfering.

Are you happily involved with a partner? An issue which is vital to the relationship or marriage will come up now, and you’ll be able to do a lot of ‘homework’ which is helpful, as long as you don’t hand in your luuurve report until Mercury is out of his final shadow. This is not a great time to make a judgement call.

Are you unhappily attached or married? This period is crucial, because you’ll be using your head, to fathom a situation which usually affects your heart. Expect lots of discussion or reading now. It’s a good time for a dress rehearsal, or first take. Maybe even a second and third take. The final cut should come once you know exactly where you stand, after Mercury is out of shadow.

When Mercury is Retrograde in the Seventh House, people say ‘Umm’ or ‘Oh’ or ‘I’m not really sure’ or ‘I’ll call you’ – and that will drive you mad, if you are serious about finding someone new to love, or even serious about fixing things with your ex-partner. If you have ever shaken up a snowdome and watched the flakes whirling around before they settle, you will have a clear picture of what this cycle is like.

This also applies to the state of play with enemies, rivals or opponents. You are undoubtedly going to find them on your radar at this time, because various discussions, letters, e-mails, calls or actual meetings will be unfolding. This is not a good time to make or accept promises, though. It is better suited to a verbal ping-pong match or a willingness to have ‘talks’ over a number of weeks.

Mercury is the Messenger of the Gods in our Roman/Latin mythology. The Greeks knew him as Hermes. Seen with wings on his helmet and heels, he is a 2000-year-old symbol of flight. Today we associate him with short-haul flights, trains and FedEx. He is also the archetype who best represents the internet.

When he appears to move forwards, stand still, move backwards, stand still and then move forwards again – on this cycle – you can expect to see that stuck ‘flow’ with your partner. This also applies to former or potential partners. Enemies are ruled by this cycle too.

It’s a useful cycle for weighing issues up, testing ideas about love and sex, entering into protracted discussion about your engagement, mortgage, wedding, separation or divorce. As you might expect it’s not great for final outcomes, certain plans, absolutes or judgement calls.

I am reposting this missing chapter from 2020 Astrology on my website because, inevitably, in a section all about Mercury Retrograde, the entire file went missing. So there you go. It happens to astrologers too!

  1. Hi Jessica,

How apropos! I am currently in a state of flux/unconfirmed breakup/radio silence period with my long-distance bf. We had a talk on 7/25/16 and he stuck to his position of keeping the “status-quo” which is very infrequent visits sprinkled with constant texting (we text all day long). He can’t give me more and doesn’t know if he can move to the next level. When I asked what was holding him back, he kept saying “I’m not sure”. Obviously I don’t feel this way as this is the deepest love relationship (read karmic) of my life. Oh and he will most likely move here to the East Coast sometime end of this year/beginning next year through his current job.

I am prepared to let him go but still feel there is a glimmer of hope for us (thanks Sagittarius sun!).

    Thanks so much!

    1. I am sorry you are going through this situation. You have a tough cycle which can only happen every 29 years, in love. He is not the end of the road for you, even though I know you feel strongly and passionately that he is ‘the one.’ The truth is, the higher purpose of this cycle is to get you to make an ultimate choice about pregnancy, step-parenthood, adoption, IVF – and perhaps living a child-free life. He is the trigger. You will finally know where you stand in Easter 2017 and by 2018 will be out of this cycle for good, yet have a firm idea of the above – this helps you figure out a different way to love.

  2. Hi Jessica,
I have both the Sun and Mercury in LIbra (9 and 22 degrees respectfully.) Would you mind shedding some light as to what the implications are of this retrograde to me? Also, with most astro predictions – be they weekly horoscopes, neptune cycles or retrogrades…anything really – I tend to experience them about a week after predicted. Is this the result of something in my chart, or just a bizarre oddity???

    1. You won’t be affected by Mercury Retrograde in Libra any time soon – this is just a missing section from the book I posted. Your overall chart does have enough Libra for you to benefit from the brand new cycle from September 2016 through the third quarter of 2017, which gives you opportunities to expand and improve the chemistry you share with your former, current or potential partner. Experiencing astrology a week after the prediction is unusual. I am not sure what is going on there!

      1. More then likely I’m just alittle slow on the astro-uptake!

Wonderful, transformative things that I couldn’t have imagined are happening – literally as we speak! Scary, but exciting nonetheless. Anyhow, no time for dily-dalying.

Clearly, I have Saturn sitting on my Everything! There’s much work to be done.

Much love, your insights are ALWAYS valued and appreciated.

  3. Hi Jessica,
My moon sign is Aries ,but my Zodiac sign is Capricorn. Which one of these sign is more accurate.

  4. Hi Jessica,
I am loving the new astro book ~ and you write beautifully.
It’s a bit confronting to read all the parts about myself that I don’t want to admit, but that’s growth for you!
I was curious about the asteroids as I have Juno in Gemini and Diana in Pisces and can’t seem to persuade my partner to ‘legally’ marry me! He has Juno in Scorpio and Diana in Aries, does this go part way to explaining why we are not Mr and Mrs? I have also noticed that I have multiple planets in Libra (albeit in Retrograde) and this is my first seriously long term relationship (20 years +).
    Thank you xx

    1. I am so pleased you like the book, thank you. Your partner’s Juno in Scorpio will do it, as Juno is a symbol of commitment with all the advantages and disadvantages clearly laid out. Scorpio of course rules the money or mortgage. Your Libra stellium is great news, though, as Jupiter passing over that from September 10th will give you one answer or opportunity after another to resolve issues. You can use your journal to track these and set goals, if you like.

  5. Hi Jessica,
Wonderful book….as I was reading it I thought of a relationship of my life…..it’s abt a man 10th June 1969 born,10.10 a.m India i guess not sure of time though……….he came as a sudden bolt in my life in mid of 2011..he was childless n bonded immensely wid my child,, everything was so serious yet nothing materialized ..and then started his distancing himsrlf, moving to a new place, wanting to be free… reading ur book i guess he hs Uranus working smwhr….I may be wrong though….anyhow things hv changed yet i till date feel connected….my DOB 28-3-1977, 11:37 pm India….today we still are friends though frm his side the relation never moves beyond tht…….wht does the astrological geometry speak abt our relation….will he ever commit like before,,wht lies ahead remains a mystery for me..things ended yet it never seems like an end!!
    What’s happening….cn u shed SM light….ny insights????

    1. Thank you, I’m glad you like the new book. You will develop things with this man or a superior alternative who replaces him in 2017, following a complete change in both your destinies from September 2016.

  6. I think my life has been stuck in Mercury Retrograde. So far August has been one thing after another, I hate to think what is going to happen after the 10th.

  7. Hi, I’ve noticed the Australian Women’s Weekly link isn’t updating. It stays on August 4th, also the astrology for Sunday on your site never updated it stood on Saturday, just a few glitches. Ironically it’s exactly how my life has been going lately.

      1. Thank you Jessica. Everything will straighten out when it’s suppose to, no stress as I can see Mercury Retrograde is making his coming arrival known….I have a possible future suggestion for your site. I was thinking it would be helpful to have the house listed by each planet and asteroid in the Birth Chart Data. For example my Mercury is in the 12th house so perhaps it can be written as –

        Mercury (12)
        06° Pisces 36′ 30″

I know I can easily link over to the birthchart and find the house it’s in. It’s just an idea that popped in my head as ideas often do, I mean no insult as I love your site and all you offer on it. Thank you.

  8. Hello Jessica,
I only have one or two factors in Libra. Would this transit affect me on a personal or professional level? And if so, how do I best handle this?
    Thank you!

    1. It’s actually far less important than Jupiter in Libra, coming September 10th 2016, which you need to read more about by hitting ‘Search’ as it will benefit your pursuit of equal partnerships and symmetrical relationships.

  9. Jessica

Is Mercury retrograde affecting me and my inability to gain any insight into my previous lovers motives for contacting me after 15 yrs and his current situation. It’s driving me crazy trying to figure it all out. Do I dare to hope he will return to me before time passes us both by!

    1. With this one (or the next one) you will be able to make a fresh start once the Sun changes signs in the third week of October and by the third week of November will know where you stand, one way or another. This is part of a slow chain of rolling improvements, climaxing in the most brilliant chance in 12 years for equal partnership, starting in the final quarter of 2017 and (if you say yes) part of life in 2018.

  10. Hi Jessica

Have I been blocked for my question? It’s been waiting moderation for days.
    Thanks

    1. No, not blocked – I just had internet problems. My apologies! What you are really waiting for is other people’s lives around you to improve, as their destiny affects yours. One separation or divorce will come through in your world by the first half of next year and this starts a chain reaction of change around you. You are also going to see one sexist man change his ways within a partnership. This also has a domino effect on those around. You gain.

  11. Hello Jessica,

I have just recieved another refusal after a job interview. I Is it Mercury Retrograde? I just can’t see any signs of Jupiter in Libra and a relaunch. I only see: Sorry, no job and any prospects anywhere.
    My DOB 15/10/74 in Germany.
    Thank you in advance

    1. Jupiter in Libra has not started yet. The relaunch is about your First House – appearance, reputation, image, brand – which may or may not involve your actual job. It’s hard to say if you are being turned down for jobs because of Mercury Retrograde without knowing your chart, sorry.

  12. Hi Jessica

Your accurate Brexit prediction brought me to this site and I immediately signed up for Premium membership as you really are the ‘real deal’!
I’ve been reading about 2020 and my question is, do you think I will change career then?
I currently run 4 of my own businesses – soon to be 3 – and life in general has been incredibly challenging for the last 2 years – including breast cancer and serious surgeries – but all is good now with that! I’m trying to reinvent my businesses to create the work/life balance I haven’t been able to achieve for the last 12.5 years…do you think my husband and I will achieve this – he is 18.5.67 (Ascendant Pisces 15 degrees 59’57)?
We’ve been together for 10 years and love each other very much – but seem to have had more challenges than most!?!
    Thank you for any advice

    1. Thank you very much. Salacia and Ops at 21 and 23 Capricorn respectively, are in your Tenth House of career, ambition and achievement. Pluto is slowly moving up to form a conjunction at 21 and 23 Capricorn and he will be joined by Jupiter and Saturn, also moving through Capricorn. Hopefully you saw the chapter in my new book 2020 Astrology about the phenomenal changes we are going to see, 2019 through 2020, for people like you who have strong Capricorn signatures. You and your husband will figure out the financial side of the story from the final quarter of 2017 and through 2018 and you will begin to see everything transform 2019 through 2020. This will not just be because you choose it. Circumstances will demand it. If you picture the partnership with your husband as a set of scales, not only will the scales be rebalanced, starting September 10th 2016, by April 2017 you may decide you want to throw away the old set of scales you both shared and build a new one. You can find out more about your Capricorn placements by hitting Search.

  13. Thank you Jessica. My husband is planning to return to his ‘career’ after running the businesses in my absence. When you say…
“You and your husband will figure out the financial side of the story from the final quarter of 2017 and through 2018 and you will begin to see everything transform 2019 through 2020. This will not just be because you choose it. Circumstances will demand it. If you picture the partnership with your husband as a set of scales, not only will the scales be rebalanced, starting September 10th 2016, by April 2017 you may decide you want to throw away the old set of scales you both shared and build a new one.”
…are you referring to his return to his career? Also, if I decide to throw away the ‘old set of scales you both shared and build a new one’ what does this mean for our relationship, are we building a ‘new set of scales’ together? Are the transformations in 2019 and 2020 positive ones?
    Thank you again!

    1. This is too far into the future for specifics, but I can zero in on details closer to 2019 – at the moment broad brushstrokes are the best guide.
