Jupiter in Cancer and Your New Opportunities
Jupiter, the planet which helps you fly higher in life, moves into Cancer at 5.02pm ET (Eastern Time or New York time) on Monday June 9th and stays there until June 30th 2026.
If you are in London that’s 10.02pm on Monday June 9th.
If you are in Sydney, Melbourne or Hobart – you are 14 hours ahead of New York, so will experience the start of the big, booming Jupiter in Cancer cycle at 7.02am on Tuesday June 10th.
That’s why we always say in astrology ‘allow a day either side’ to cater for all sleep and work cycles around the world. In this prediction about Jupiter in Cancer, I’ll refer to my books, Essential Astrology for Women (HarperCollins) and Your Birthday (Hachette). Jupiter is a planet I have written about a lot over the years. He is worth knowing about, because what you come away with, once the cycle is over, has lasting benefits.
Jupiter’s bird is the eagle. Astrology, which comes to us in its modern form, from the Romans, has associated Jupiter with this large, powerful, strong bird for 2000 years. Get ready to soar.
It’s Been Twelve Years
It’s been 12 years since you had these kinds of fortunate options, in one area of your life. Which area? In this feature I will look at the 12 signs, but also your natal chart too. If you have anything in Cancer in your birth horoscope, you stand to gain enormously from houses, land, gardens and apartments.
This is about the roof over your head, but also your extended family circle. Your shared household. Your sense of belonging to your town and country.
In this feature I will also look at the transiting aspects Jupiter in Cancer makes as he passes through your Fourth House. What are the patterns of the next 12 months that open the doors?
How Every Sign Benefits
Aries – Opportunities to extend your home or move somewhere bigger are coming. You could relocate to a better area, or even gain the keys to a second home. You may landscape your garden or attend to long overdue home repair and improvements. This cycle is also about your home town and homeland. You gain from the new wave of patriotism which is coming to your country. It is also about your extended family circle and household, so a new member may arrive who is a big plus factor for you. For example, your uncle may gain a new girlfriend who is very successful and helps you, financially. The Fourth House of your solar chart is where Jupiter will extend his broad sweep of solutions, not possible in 12 years. This is your best chance to buy your first home affordably, sell the old one profitably, or find more unusual choices; a home exchange to an area you love; an Air BnB arrangement at your place. Even if you are already doing extremely well with two properties to your name, this transit can help you (for example) sell at a profit and downsize to your advantage. If you have Cancer factors, double that message. Jupiter in your solar Fourth House is about expanding the property empire for many Aries.
Taurus – This is a fortunate cycle for neighbours and neighbouring places for you. Luck is just over the fence (a neighbour may ask you to house-sit). Glamping? A glam caravan? The Third House of your solar chart is about Lond0n-Paris on Eurostar, or Sydney-Melbourne. Certainly America and Canada, which are neighbouring places. The lucky neighbour effect can also include people who live several streets away, though. Along with a boom for neighbours and adjacent places, this is also a terrific cycle for transportation, regional travel and commuting. So, you may gain a new electric car, for example, or learn to drive. Perhaps Uber is about to offer you, your dream deal as a non-driver! Taurus, this transit is also about your brother, sister and cousin. You will benefit from them on this cycle. Finally, it’s about the internet and media. Luck is with you. It’s a great time to start a new website or buy a new laptop. You may expand from a YouTube channel to a radio or TV slot. Your words fly.
Gemini – You are in a financial gain cycle now, so you will save on a cheaper home or lower mortgage interest rates. You may also see the value of your real-estate rise. Jupiter will transit your Second House of banking, earning, savings, sales, purchases, property, charity, business and valuables. You could go to your local car boot sale and find an Antiques Roadshow windfall. This is the best cycle in 12 years to ask for a pay rise. I am not one of those astrologers who tells you to gamble or buy a lottery ticket, based on your horoscope (frankly, if it worked then capitalism would have collapsed centuries ago). However, the Second House is certainly about solid assets. Jupiter is about expansion, so the growth in value of sturdy investments is far more likely at this time. You may be offered a new income stream on this transit, or be given a share in a very successful new business. You could find you are box-office gold on this cycle, or see products or plans from 12 years ago reward you a second time. This is because Jupiter works on a 12-year cycle in Cancer. You can gain from that.
Cancer – This is your image-booster cycle so your attachment to your home, home town and/or homeland could do wonders for your profile. Show off your place or patriotism. You were born with the Sun in Cancer in the Fourth House, so shine at your brilliant best, when you are at your most patriotic or proud of your town/city/state/county. It’s the same with your heritage, history, family tree and cultural origins. You glow, when you represent your class (for example) or your nationality. Cancer, on a more fundamental level, this is the cycle to target cosmetic surgery, weight loss, treatments for hair loss, new glasses or contact lenses or a new wardrobe. Jupiter in your First House is about overdue improvements for your image, portrait and profile. If your reputation needs repair, this cycle can help you. This is a relaunch cycle for you and it will begin quickly, with results by the third week of July. Self-promotion and publicity can grow enormously.
Leo – Leo, this cycle is about the benefits of being alone. So – meditating, writing a journal, spirituality or hypnosis. A bigger or better space offering solitude may be yours. You have Jupiter transiting the Twelfth House, which describes psychology, religion, psychiatry and the psychic world. Even if you are already a professional psychic or medium, you can fly higher on this Jupiter transit. The Twelfth House is about your soul’s expansion so although nobody else will see what is going on, you will appreciate the huge improvements to come, on the inside. The Twelfth House is associated with therapy and counselling and for many Leo people, it is time to fix private issues – phobias, for example, or ongoing anxiety or depression. The Twelfth House is invisible. Benefits from Jupiter transiting the Twelfth are intensely personal and only understood by a confidante, like a priest, rabbi, therapist and so on. Introspection benefits you now. So might Carl Jung. Dream interpretation could be a huge gateway. If you have been under psychic attack, this cycle can get rid of it. Those attempting it will regret it.
Virgo – This is your social gains, friendship fix and big group cycle. Need a bigger entertaining space or a place closer to your pals? How about a rental-with-friends? The transit of Jupiter in your solar Eleventh House will offer you new friends and better friends. The existing social ties and groups in your life will benefit you. So, for example, if you are already involved with a football team, it may be the World Cup that sweeps you along. If you are already part of a charity, then it may receive new funding, enabling you all to do a great deal more. Friends benefit you now. They may be famous, rich, well-connected or successful. You are being given a chance to fly higher with allies, now. A brotherhood and/or sisterhood which genuinely feels like a great alliance. The Eleventh House is about what you all want, alone, which can become collectively real. It’s rather like longing for a heated swimming pool and then discovering that your community can share resources to fund a community fitness centre. You may be accepted into a prestigious private members’ club now, or be offered a flattering role within a large network.
Libra – If your career, unpaid role or course involves property, homes, gardens, the council, the government, defence, architecture, homemaking and so on – you gain in particular ways now. Jupiter in Cancer will elevate all these aspects of our lives from June 2025 until June 2026. Setting that idea aside for the moment, success could come your way through a lucky break. You may be discovered, for example. Even if you are already successful, a promotion, prestigious new role, number one hit or hugely beneficial work project could take off. This is also a cycle for academic achievement; the qualification you always wanted, or admission to a top university. The Tenth House is about status. The peak. The top of the mountain. As Jupiter’s transit harks back to life 12 years ago, what you produced then may reward you second time around. Jupiter is about a boom. It has been associated with thunder for 2000 years. There may be a boom for your particular talent, skill, niche or field. And this applies no matter if you are studying, between jobs, retired or in full employment. Do pursue that boom. Awards and glittering prizes call.
Scorpio – Your luck is with foreigners and foreign countries, so you could emigrate or do well from hosting tourists through Air BnB. A home exchange abroad is also possible. If you are already successful in your own country, export may reward you, or even a life-changing period of global expansion. The Ninth House, where Jupiter transits, is also about travel, for obvious reasons. Even if you are a seasoned traveller, you may now go further (and travel in style). Basic opportunities to gain from foreigners in your own town and country will also arrive. Perhaps foreign investors are interested in your work. The Ninth House also rules higher education and academia. This cycle can coincide with prestigious invitations to lecture overseas. This is actually Jupiter’s own house, in astrology, so there is a comfortable fit here, between your intentions to soar abroad, and what is possible with other cultures and languages.
Sagittarius – You are about to have your most profitable financial cycle in 12 years, saving money, making it or gaining through cash in kind. Perhaps a cheap or free home? More ambitiously, it may be time to reclaim your business interests and gain from that; offer shares; purchase cryptocurrency. Astrologers do not give financial advice, so you are best off, reading your own Tarot or reading your own chart. As a general trend though, Jupiter is about the expansion of your assets and the growth of your bank account. One cannot say where, specifically, the gains come from, but if you remember life 12 years ago, you gained. If you were a child you may have won a competition and landed a bicycle and a cheque. If you were an adult you may have sold your first apartment at a profit. Jupiter is now in your Eighth House, which is the house of sex, death and money. You may inherit. You might gain from your partner’s windfall or begin dating somebody who has a luxurious lifestyle to share. Marry them, even.
Capricorn – Dating? You two could marry or move in thanks to his or her offer. Committed? You two could renovate or move. A platonic two-bedroom share? Perfect! Jupiter is now transiting your Seventh House of partnerships. If you visualise a set of scales with yourself on one end, and a crucial person on the other, you will see how this transit can work. There may be more than one partnership, too. So this lucky cycle could be about your marriage but also a new work partner. If there have been problems in your partnership, successful counselling or a surprisingly amicable split are more likely on this astrology cycle. If you are single, a person who can expand your horizons will come along, with obvious intentions. Jupiter is about growth. The people you fall in love with now, or who fall in love with you, bring partnerships which let you see a bigger picture. Within an existing partnership it is time to go to the next level. So, you may decide to have a baby, buy a house or start a business together. If you two are already a ‘big’ couple expect an even more elevated step up in life.
Aquarius – Your lifestyle sector is boosted now. A She Shed to work in? A spa, pool, or better garden? Moving to a city served by superior pools, hiking trails or gyms? The Sixth House of your chart is where there is no separation between workload and wellbeing. You are at your happiest and healthiest when you are in a career; an unpaid role; a course – where you feel appreciated and admired for what you do. Even if you are serving others, it feels deeply fulfilling. In turn, you can bring all your energy and vitality to the task, because you are in tip-top condition. This is the ideal of the Sixth House and Jupiter’s transit will help you move closer towards it. A classic example would be resigning to work for yourself and having a four-day week with the fifth day spent detoxing and meditating. Job opportunities, big options for improved study conditions and a booming unpaid (honorary ) role are all traditional outcomes of this cycle – together with new chances for better health.
Pisces – Parents, godparents and grandparents will see better options for children or teenagers at home, or in their home town. A bigger nursery, perhaps, or a new park. If you want a baby, the Jupiter transit of your Fifth House traditionally gives you the biggest and best opportunities to do that. Children and teenagers can expand your world in other ways. Your boyfriend’s young niece may become closer to you. You might find yourself tutoring young adults. The Fifth House is not only about a younger generation; it is also about courtship and the bedroom. If you are single then this 12-month period is a happy hunting ground, or you will yourself be pursued. As Jupiter always elevates and uplifts, you can expect to feel you are progressing. Moving on up, to quote Curtis Mayfield. You may have more choice, sexually, than you have for many years – thanks to an array of possible partners – or find that any issues in bed are solved. Jupiter is a great problem-solver as well as the lucky planet. This is the transit when your son could do very well at school, or your favourite godson could land a prestigious new job.

Your dream apartment may be reduced in price for a quick sale, for example, or you may be asked to become a godparent. Remembering that the Fourth House is about real-estate, renovations, redecoration and the extended family circle – whatever you have in this house will be elevated, boosted and expanded by Jupiter. Cancer the crab carries her home on her back. So, to some degree, do you.
The ‘what’ of the story depends on what you have in Cancer. So if you have Jupiter himself there, you will experience your Jupiter Return. That’s unusually lucky. You could inherit an apartment, for example, or land an incredible real-estate bargain.

Jupiter in Cancer Aspects – Key Dates
Jupiter retrogrades, or appears to go backwards, from November 11th. Your bigger, better road now loops around itself, so you must also pause, or reverse.
On March 10th 2026, Jupiter goes forward and so does your journey. If you are a Capricorn who is dating a new man, for example, his ex-wife may get in the way from November 11th, but be out of the picture from March 10th.
Jupiter Square Saturn and Neptune
Being unable to square the opportunity with a test of patience for yourself (or others) is normal when Jupiter is square Saturn on June 15th 2025. Jupiter at 1 Cancer is square Saturn at 1 Aries.
A few days later, on June 18th, Jupiter is square Neptune. Jupiter is at 2 Cancer square Neptune at 2 Aries.

Jupiter Quincunx PlutoThis is about a change in the balance of power, at the same time that you are being shown an opportunity. A reshuffle at work is one example, or a shift in the family politics. Perhaps one partner is now richer than the other. Jupiter is at 3 Cancer and Pluto is at 3 Aquarius, on June 24th, 2025.
Jupiter Square Chiron
Again, what cannot be ‘squared’ about big opportunities and solutions, will feel like jamming the wrong jigsaw piece into the right puzzle. This happens on October 23rd, when Jupiter at 24 Cancer is square Chiron at 24 Aries. It happens again on December 21st, when Jupiter at 22 Cancer is square Chiron at 22 Aries. A highly experimental situation elsewhere in your life does not add up with other options.
September 3rd 2025
Jupiter at 18 Cancer will trine the True North Node at 18 Pisces on September 3rd and simultaneously be sextile the True South Node at 18 Virgo. This is a terrific period (allow the 2nd, 3rd, 4th September for all world time zones) when life 18 or 19 years prior, karmically rewards many people.

That’s good. Professional psychics usually agree. You will be taken to a new decision with your former partner, or a new contender. The background issue is children. Yes or no? You two can’t really get away from that, because the parenthood question looms large. Yet, there is something solid gold here between you. Thank you, that’s nice to hear. Yes, you stand to gain from your parenting and also your professional life with younger people. Jupiter presents ‘the obvious opportunity’ and it’s worth taking seriously, even if you find it’s not perfect. It tends not to reappear, so you have to really think about who and what is on offer. There is also no pressure to accept the option. It can feel a little ungrateful to do that, but Jupiter is not for everybody. It’s a personal choice, but you will be offered new expansion.

Thank you for this post, I’ve been waiting for Jupiter to FINALLY go into Cancer as I will have my Jupiter return, and I am so ready for some “unusual luck” to come my way, after many years of struggle in basically all areas of my life! However, I was born with Jupiter retrograde, what does that mean in general and for this Jupiter return specifically? Will it lessen my luck? Also, I have my IC in Pieces at same 4 degree, as my natal Jupiter and MC obviously then at 4 degrees Virgo, so born with Jupiter trine IC in Pieces and sextile MC in Virgo, if I’m reading it correctly? What meaning does that have?
Furthermore, I was born with Saturn at 0 degrees Virgo, and Psyche at 0 degree Scorpio, what does this mean in general and now specifically when Jupiter moves to 0 degrees Cancer?
I have been struggling among other things to make a decision whether or not to leave my 9-5 and go all in with my online business, teaching interior design. Up until now I’ve been staying more on the sidelines keeping it safe, but frustrated I’m not seeing the results I want (which is obvious since I’m not giving it my best effort). If I were to go all in, is there something you see in my chart that could potentially be a struggle or create an obstacle down the line? Thank you Kristina. Jupiter Retrograde, natally, only shows itself under transit. So when Jupiter himself moves to 4 Cancer (your Jupiter Return, or Jupiter in conjunction with natal Jupiter) you will find you reverse and rehearse – spinning your wheels – until you move forward. You have been doing this since the age of 12 in relation to the family, house, flat and/or household. Being blessed, you share the luck, but do it backwards and forwards for a while. So here comes the pattern again. Perhaps you were even an interior designer at the age of 12. You can also just be lucky with the family or flatmates; you were born in 1977 so have been around long enough to also see benefits at age 24. From 23 to 25, you were offered quite rare, big opportunities with a residence and also with a relative or flatmate. The cycle comes around again and you will once again be offered something, or someone, on a very big plate. The 0 degree placements are helped by Jupiter at 0 Cancer. Transiting Jupiter will sextile natal Saturn in Virgo in the Sixth House, so the usual restrictions and limitations of work, wellbeing and lifestyle can be reshaped with real solutions. Thanks Emma. Saturn in Scorpio in your Eighth House will do that, to your finances, if you have transiting Uranus in opposition from Taurus – which you did. Upheaval is normal, but it is over now. You were also given independence, if you are honest about it. (Freedom from x, y or z is usually the result). You are lucky to have a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in your Fourth House and this is lifelong good fortune. Every time the world turns upside-down with the family, shared households, houses, gardens, apartments – you gain. The lucky ‘flip’ is characteristic of this. We could also say the electrical storm brings unpredictable lightning strikes with who or what you call home, but it also brings real opportunities and solutions afterwards. Some good solutions for old family or household issues are coming. Ceres in Cancer in the Fourth House shows regular compromises over who/what has the power and control within the clan, or within the home. Anything unresolved emotionally from the last deal-making can be fixed as Jupiter transits Cancer and is in a conjunction with Ceres. He did, in fact, resolve all Ceres’ issues for her in the original Roman tale. Vulcan can also leave long traces with family members, live-in partners or those in a shared household. Again, Jupiter remedies the past. Jupiter in a conjunction with Mercury brings an opportunity to negotiate terms with a real-estate agent, builder, tenant, landlord and so on. Thank you for an uplifting post in the current Doom and Gloom environment. I live in the UK but my native country is in France. We have been lucky over the past six years with property, getting the house of our dreams in 2019. It has come with its share of challenges, ongoing expensive upgrading works and a very difficult neighbour, but the house felt fated and is our little piece of heaven. I have Cancer placements at 00 (Ops), 09 (Juno), 16 (Apollo), 25 (Jupiter) and 27 (DESC). You’re in a pretty good position with Ops at 0 Cancer and your Jupiter Return in Cancer, natally. You are a Frenchwoman living in Britain and thinking of buying in France. Hi Jessica – I have Uranus at 17 Cancer does this mean that I might at last find a permanent home to live in? I have been renting for 25 years as have never earned enough to pay rent and put down a mortgage and now find myself over 70 unable to get a mortgage.

Jupiter in Cancer in your Fourth House was not the transit which delivered the heartbreaking IVF failures or miscarriage. Nor was it the death of your best friend, or your bad boss. What Jupiter in Cancer actually delivered, was the sale of your home for a lot more money than you expected. A typical outcome. So what was going on, during the last transit? What other cycles were behind the difficulties? In 2013 and 2014, on the last Jupiter in Cancer cycle, you had Saturn and the North Node in Scorpio in the Eighth House of sex, death and money. That’s your entire answer. That cycle has long gone. The Eighth House, more politely described by Patric Walker as ‘matters of a joint financial nature’ covers wills and legacies, mortgages, joint bank accounts held by married couples, life insurance and so on. I feel I’m forced by the universe to lead a different life, in the same way of a new home but in a shocking way than I have imagined. Though I wasn’t happy in the marriage, I thought people will change in due course. 21 years is a long way, maybe my self worth was too low to leave before.
Even though I’m extremely independent, and strong willed with full time employment and my own business, I still feel lacking and lonely. I look forward to my kids living happily wherever they are and wish to meet a soul partner who is kind, spiritual, caring, and mature.

I work in Climate but my work situation is a little troubled.
