I am writing this two years before it happens, but your first Mercury Retrograde rescheduling happens from 4-19 Aquarius from January 9th to March 5th.
If you have Aquarius factors in your birth chart, your social media, group, friends, clubs, teams and circles will see one or two rewrites in your diary. Some plans may come to nothing.
Globally this hits sport and politics. Also the big groups – the United Nations and NATO.
In general expect extreme weather, computer failures and other X factors to get in the way of your plans. Have your own Plan B and C.
May 6 to June 30, 2028
Mercury Retrograde at 6 to 16 degrees Gemini will deliver stoppages and cancellations with public transport, trains, short haul flights, the internet, computers, telephone networks and the media.
This is more than just the usual inconvenience of regular plan upsets. It’s a global domino effect, for whatever reason. It may be extreme weather or major IT failure. AI will be hard hit.
August 30 to October 26, 2028
Mercury goes forwards, backwards, forwards and stalls now. It occurs at 3-18 Libra. If you have Libra birth chart factors this is about a business partnership; marriage; divorce; separation. It’s about legal disputes, conflicts and (on the world stage) two allies, but also battles and war.
Have Plan B and C for the usual transport, travel, telephone and/or computer issues that come with Mercury Retrograde now.
2028 to 2029
At 17 to 29 Capricorn, Mercury Retrograde finishes 2028 and starts 2029 with rewritten rescheduling. From 17-29 Capricorn, in particular, Mercury rewinds from the year before. You will see reshuffling, redundancies, resignations which don’t stick now or take months to conclude.
As this comes on the back of Christmas, extreme weather (snow, storms, heatwaves and other weather events around the world) will stop, cancel or slow down transport and travel.
January 14 to February 13 2029 replays December 2028, specifically the 22nd to 31st.

I hope all is well in your world 🙂 . Thank you for this advanced block for Mercury Retrograde 2028. it made me think and to go back and read two that you published for 2026. Especially the one published on 15 July 2025.. I remember reading it last year , especially ” Mercury in Cancer 13 June – 7 Aug and “thinking “oh bugger ” that’s when we will be trying to renovate / sell our home and purchasing a new home. Well I can tell you once again that You are bang on with your predictions. ” Cancer rules Real Estate – Renovations, House Auctions etc. The usual luck has gone between these dates , we will see a reversal in housing markets world wide ” you wrote . I can’t speak for the rest of the world but we are here in Sydney. The Housing market has definitely reversed. Only in a matter of weeks has our current home lost value , So we have held back from selling. Still searching for a new home which remains elusive . It really has been a scary ride and it appears it’s not over yet. Thanks once again for your forewarning, Its timely advise and explains why we are in the situation we are in.

Well, it’s a long way off, but you will see a slow-moving issue with or for children, teenagers, young adults, played out as other people deal with delays and reversals too. In general, it’s a classic cycle for extreme weather.

If I understood correctly, you discussed before how Capricornian individuals who are currently in charge may not be for much longer, with more the rise of greater people power in the age of Aquarius. I hope I understood correctly. In my chart, I have two aspects at 04 (Minerva) and 18 Libra (Hygeia) and I struggle to see how Minerva will play out in a retrograde: will I loose my marbles for a while and act recklessly? I also struggle to make sense of Hygeia generally. What does Hygeia mean in this context? Thank you for any insight.
AI is Uranus (the revolution) in Gemini (communication) but like all revolutions it will meet with resistance. Eventually it will change into something that people can happily live with, but it will take time as Uranus moves so slowly. Retrogrades in a chart show up when they are triggered by transits, so when you see the red R in your chart, that’s a part of you which goes backwards and forwards, stops, reverses, restarts. AI is Gemini and academia is Sagittarius, so there will be push and pull over this for years, as Uranus in Gemini slowly opposes the Sagittarius placements of billions of academics and students. It will be a long time before you personally experience the opposition, as you have late degree Sagittarius patterns, but the world in general must figure out its universities and colleges in this radical new universe. You are one of many Capricorn people currently trying to sort out real estate or rentals. The reason for this is Saturn, Neptune and frequently Chiron in Aries in your Fourth House of property (all together, in 2026 and 2027). I doubt I told you, that you would not have a peaceful time. Hope everyone is journeying through this current cycle of Mercury retrograde as well as can be. Thank you for your passage on Mercury retrograde to come. I feel an uncertainty on these cycles as I consider the re. I started a new health program with a professional natural doctor just as Mercury retrograded this month. This was a former professional doctor I had been working with previously, but now it is a new setting and organisation. I have also started to work with a former company (last time I worked with them was in 2022). This work is very welcomed ant this time and although challengers are presenting I am focusing on bringing my best. So, in these areas, with my chart placements and in general, can you please share some wisdom of how to best live in these cycles as I move forward with choices we must make. It is difficult to just stop new ventures at times and I worry all will be well. How can we as a human collective, rise and live well through these retrograde periods. I appreciate your insights. Thank you. Mercury Retrograde is useful for rehearsing, reviewing and revising (all the productive ‘re’ prefix words) and a successful outcome can be the result of second and third attempts (rather like a hit stage play which depends on a slow period of trial and error). The trick is to treat it as such. I provide the dates two years in advance as they classically deliver travel and transport complications in particular. CrowdStrike is the most famous recent example of this, which fell in one of my predicted Mercury Retrograde windows. Are you particularly affected by Mercury Retrograde? You are a Sun Virgo woman with a Virgo stellium and Virgo is ruled by Mercury. So yes, any time this planet appears to stand still and reverse, you find your daily routine, schedule workload and lifestyle in particular is affected. Yet the plus factors of having a lot of Virgo factors in your Sixth House are concentrated wonderfully on mid 2027 to mid 2028, with Jupiter in Virgo, when a lot of solutions will appear in succession. This may be a long-standing health or medical concern; a basic workload matter; your need for a fulfilling job, course or unpaid role and so on. Think about August, September 2027 as key pre planning months.
I was so relieved when I realized Mercury wasn’t going to be retrograde when I flew home from Mexico to Canada. The whole journey was so much smoother than it could’ve been. But now it’s been 1 month in our new housing situation, and I’m getting mixed signals. On one hand, with Jupiter now in my 2nd house, and having seen an eagle for the first time ever right here on this property, my intuition is that I’m right where I’m supposed to be, and there seem to be potential opportunities for expansion. Yet on the other hand, my partner is restless living in the countryside and wants to move to the city where he feels he has more opportunities, and I repeatedly pull cards that mention the need to plant an idea in the right place before it withers away, and so I’ve tried to arrange for us to move to the nearest city immediately. But we’re hesitating, and I realized that mercury is going retrograde now. I’m not quite sure but it seems like now would be a bad time to move. Mercury Retrograde is one of those cycles which is generally, broadly challenging (the whole world goes through it) and personally, dependent on the birth chart. The Northern Hemisphere is experiencing climate emergency heatwaves. That has a domino effect on everybody. For you, personally, travelling Mexico-Canada may not have hit your chart at all – so no delays. Hi Jessica, well I think this has been the hardest retrograde for me ever so I am very grateful for two years notice on another toughie! The day before my birthday this year, I went into hospital with meningitis and sepsis. Two days later, pulmonary embolism so had a bit of a fight on my hands to say the least. I am home now and in recovery thanks to an excellent medical team, family and friends. This really blindsided me but, Uranus in Gemini sprang to mind and a new me going forward? Sepsis has affected my mobility amongst other things. Recovery will be slow but it has made me rethink a new business I had just started and in an odd way has helped me see future plans in way I may never have seen before. True to Gemini form I am looking for the positives and thinking this is where I am so which path now. Am I missing anything of importance in my astrology journey? You have been through a lot, so what has been going on in your astrology chart?
