What Jupiter in Cancer Does
The Jupiter in Cancer cycle enables us to make a home wherever we are. In one cycle, July 30th 1906 to August 18th 1907
Nearly 1.3 million immigrants came to America —a record that held until 1990, on another Jupiter in Cancer year.
Home is where the children are. On another cycle, July 13th 1918 to August 2nd 1919, Save the Children, was founded.
For some people, home is not about children, but architecture. The Bauhaus movement was founded on April 25th 1919 on the Jupiter in Cancer cycle. The Empire State Building was finished, on May 1st 1931. Another strong cycle.
Finding a Home…or a Beach Hut
Council housing began in the UK on this cycle.
Cancer is ruled by the Moon (symbolising motherhood) and in turn rules the Fourth House of family, mothers and children, houses, gardens and apartments. When Jupiter transits Cancer, apply the word ‘more.’
On the June 26th 1930 to July 17th 1931 cycle, Pope Pius XI prohibited birth control and abortion for Roman Catholics. The baby boom for millions, began as a result of this.
As we move into the war years, when the Jupiter in Cancer cycle was desperately needed to give hope (June 10th 1942 to June 30th 1943) OXFAM was founded. Caring for children becomes global, not just personal, on this cycle.
On May 29th 1943: Rosie the Riveter appeared – the mum who worked for the war effort in America. Then, in September 1942 came The Burt Committee in the UK (Prefab Housing was on the way).
Food, Glorious Food
If Cancer rules mothers and the home, it makes sense that it should also rule the kitchen. Between May 24th 1954 and June 12th 1955 food rationing after the war, finally ended in Britain. Jupiter has a reputation for largesse. It bestows abundance. Moving forward to the next cycle, September 20th 1965 to November 16th, 1965 The UN World Food Program launched. In Australia, from May 5th 1966 to September 27th 1966 an all-time peak in home ownership reached 73% of the population. Back in the UK, still in the same cycle, January 15th 1967 to May 23rd 1967 the UK Leasehold Reform Act 1967 passed.
Jupiter in Cancer is equally good for renters as well as architects and home buyers.
Not surprisingly, from August 20th 1977 to December 30th 1977 we saw a US Housing Boom – with record home purchases.
From April 11th 1978 to September 5th 1978 on the subsequent Jupiter in Cancer cycle (which repeats every 12 years) there was house price boom in the UK.
Still in that cycle – from February 28th 1978 to April 20th 1979 the Right to Buy campaign (Thatcher) meant renters could purchase their UK council houses.
Depending on your own chart and your own country, house prices can drop (you can afford a flat) or skyrocket (you can sell your home, make a profit and downsize – keeping the change).
In 1989 house prices fell in Sydney. This coincided with the July 30th 1989 to August 18th 1990 Jupiter in Cancer cycle.
More Jupiter in Cancer Property Boosters
Jupiter was back in Cancer from July 12th 2001 to August 1st 2002 and the average house price increase in Australia was 15%.
Twelve years later, from June 25th 2013 to July 16th 2014 house prices went up again – still using Australia as an example – going up 10%.
Much depends on what you do on Jupiter in Cancer! Are you canny enough to sell at a profit then move somewhere cheaper or buy a more affordable home in the same area? Are you watching what the council and the government are planning with – new building? Benefits?
On a more personal note, this transit is about babies, children and mothers. Children’s charities. And on a broader level, it is about big architectural movements.
If you have a Cancer stellium (four, five, six or more factors in that sign) then Jupiter in Cancer will emphasise that part of your nature – and throw you opportunities to do far more with it.

Hi Jess,I have two questions in mind that I’d like to ask you.
First, is it possible to make a delivery for someone without them knowing like wish for them to get a scholarship? And if so, should it be based on their Sun sign window, or should I book it on my own Sun sign dates?
Second, I want to learn how to drive, but every time I set the intention, something happens. The first time, after a week of training, my uncle passed away, so I got busy with the funeral. The last time I planned to start, the car had engine problems. So I want to know: what’s a good date for me to start learning to drive easily? I’m a Virgo Sun sign—should I look at Scorpio or what dates?

I have filled my diary with all of the 2025 manifestation dates right through to the Capricorn final delivery date of 23/01/26 and have concentrated on just one subject ( a granny flat, which I already have had a reply from you of a positive outcome) EVERYTHING to date has been achieved and the actual renovation is almost ready to begin…..but a question has arisen regarding the Permit and I am having sleepless nights through worrying. Do you see a huge problem with this Jessica? The building was permitted for another use (non domestic) but is now vacant.I am hoping to be one of the forerunners of the future, where it will be possible for people to be able to build without the need for some of the stringent government rules.(within reason of course) Do you see my renovation still going ahead please?

Lucky you, Emma. You will have your Jupiter Return in Cancer in the sector of houses, apartments, gardens, lands, home town and homeland – also the family and household. That’s luck, returning to luck. Jupiter transiting in conjunction with natal Uranus also suggests quite sudden new freedom and real liberation via the place or the people you call home. Jupiter will also sextile your Sun in Taurus which is beneficial for finance, security and real estate. So what happens from June 2025 to June 2026 is unusually good. I am retraining as a Reiki healer and I have moved back in with my dad. My question is “when would be the best timing to get somewhere I can call “home”? I’ve had a few small things come to fruition from doing the astrology booking deliveries. I’m going to attend this webinar and make some big requests as my landlord has suggested I look to moving out as I’m struggling to keep afloat with the rent, often skipping meals and my kids are going without the basics. Hi Jessica. A long time ago, I asked you about the sale of my business. You said it would take some time. Your timeline was right. And now here I am with a buyer. I had the disappointment of losing someone who said they would buy at the end of March. Then at the end of April, a new buyer appeared. Now, at the full moon in May, the terms of my contract have arrived, with a proposed completion date during July. Dear Jessica, I love your astrology delivery posts, what a gift thank you! I am a little apprehensive about Jupiter in Cancer as the last two times it visited I had terrible conflicts with one neighbour, I have rented for forty years and they are the only times I have not had positive neighbour experiences. Each time it profoundly impacted my ability to be at peace in my home. Both times were with single females around my age, I was saved by one getting an inheritance and buying, the other got a problematic boyfriend and couldn’t pay the rent. When Jupiter went through cancer in 1967 to 68 my parents moved us from an apartment in DC to a house in the suburbs of Maryland in the USA. It was very volatile a lot of drugs drinking not a good situation for a little kids. 1970 my mom threw my brother and I in the car literally with a bag of clothes and took off to escape my dad. We were supposed to go to Montana, but there was a snowstorm so we ended up in Florida. This is where I had my formative years.
Jupiter moves into cancer In 1978. My mom got word that my grandfather had terminal colon cancer and that we would have to move back so that she could take over the family business. Move back in 1980.
So now we moved to Jupiter and cancer in 1989 to 1990. I was married my husband and I had a condo in Washington DC and we bought a house in the suburbs. Lord sounds familiar? I left him a year after that. How crazy it’s just like my mom and dad story all over again.
Jupiter in Cancer 2001 to 2002. I was remarried. I had already moved and moved in 1998 when we got married. Can’t think of anything to do with moving or housing. But I did get step kids so maybe on the personal level was about more children. Cause I also have my own children But work was incredible. Had great work situation.
I think the next Jupiter cancer was 2013 to 2014. I had to move out of my little farmette that I loved with all my heart. At this point I had left my second husband. I left him in 2006 and I got my little farm and I loved it so much. But things have gotten difficult. I lost my job. My mom wanted me to come take over her business. OK now think back again about repeating history my mom having to pack us up and take us away from everything we loved in Florida because my grandfather was dying. Well, very interestingly I’m moved in with my mom and start a revamping the entire real estate business it was so much fun. I was really enjoying it. I got my license in October 2014 after moving in with her. November 2014 my mom got sick by May 2015. My mother had passed away. It was so fast and I could not take over the business. I had to sell it. I wasn’t a broker yet. There was too many loopholes and hurdles and too many other things to clean up after mom passed away.
Good God I hope that this time around it’s like a refresh and I get a nice new place to live. I’m actually looking for somewhere else to live. I’m so tired of moving around I swear to God I can’t take it anymore

We are first time buyers and am quite excited but also nervous about finding the right place. You’re too early for Jupiter in Cancer now, as he does not move until 9th June, but there are plenty of arguments for looking now. Also, since Jupiter is about to move to 0 degrees, it will ping a few of my natal planets. But I note Pluto, Saturn and Neptune either have already pinged these planets, are currently pinging them or will ping them soon! I’m worried that some of these might hamper the good luck of Jupiter.

Hi Jessica – looking back through previous Jupiter in Cancer years I found that I either moved home, purchased an additional home or even moved countries! This was a really interesting and enlightening exercise. However, my current home has cost much more than I anticipated in fixing up issues with trees, walls and drainage in the quite large garden. I admit this has impacted my enjoyment of living here, so much so that I now wonder if it is the right home for me and I should move to somewhere with a smaller garden even though I really love the house itself and didn’t intend to move again for several years. Perhaps this time Jupiter is going to deliver some surprising and unexpected solution regarding my outdoor space? I am sun cancer 29 deg scorpio rising and very excited about Jupiter going into out sign. I am hoping to get on a course Ive wanted to do for so many years , but its very competitive so not sure if it will happen. I am in the process of buying a house , its taken 3 yrs to find it. It went on sale in merc retro in April 19th and we had to offer then , it was hard fought negotiation with another party after it too and finally agreed on 24th April which was a much higher price than we wanted also still in merc retro. The process is going forward but I am worried that we must not complete in the next merc retro 30th june to 25th Aug ( in cancer’s finance zone) , do I need to make sure we dont complete until after 25th Aug (or does it all bode badly anyway as we started in merc retro but had no choice otherwise would lose it) any guidance greatfully received. I am hoping we may get something back when survey is completed.
